Is there a need for all 14 scorers. I like the posts of your closer games but 14-0 vs Swansea would have been good enough.

Me personally...I could care less. But if you're one of the 5 kids who scored their first career goal tonight then yes, there is a need.

In truth, I'd like to keep it off the board and list it as a game summary on our schedule but that feature doesn't seem to be working this season.

Gilbert 2 Barnwell 3

I agree. First goal is great. That's cool but I am sure it will be in The State tomorrow where mommy and daddy can cut it out and save it. No need for it here where other posters might be the team you just ran into the ground.

good win, your team will ceratinly be in the mix for the AAA title. best of luck.,

No disrespect meant. Thanks for the kind words about the team...we'll see.

Dreher should be ranked higher than Daniel even if based strictly on schedule.
Posted By: jwoodring Re: 3-2 games - 03/03/06 04:48 AM
Bluffton 3
Wade Hampton 1
Overtime

Pawleys Island

At the end of regulation:
Lincoln 2
Waccamaw 2

Lincoln wins in Penalty Kicks

Hard fought match by both teams...great win for Lincoln.

In reference to the 14-0 win for Dreher, I think it shows a lack of class to run the score up like that. You can stop before double digits and still get the same message across. It's called Professional Courtesy!
Posted By: WhatDoesItMatter Re: 3-2 games - 03/04/06 03:48 AM
yea but if you put second string in they still want to score to move themself up to first string. that alot of times racks the score up.
Posted By: swanseawinger20 Re: 3-2 games - 03/04/06 03:06 PM
nope, that didnt happen...for the most part starters stayed in for the whole game. i think that the only subs made were those on offense. and late in the game, like ten to five minutes left is when he pulled off "the stars". To be honest if you think they should go up in the rankings because they beat swansea 14-0, i have nothing to say to you
Posted By: Nasty19 Re: 3-2 games - 03/04/06 04:14 PM
sinuhe, beaufort beat james island 2-1 in a shootout
Posted By: 22 Re: 3-2 games - 03/04/06 04:24 PM
Dreher's coach put in everybody on the bench for 5 minutes to give them an oppurtunity to score their first goal(most were underclassmen)...sophomores get played through balls at half field and dribble the whole defense...all the studs were pulled probably 5 minutes into the second half with most of them done for the night...

I don't know why Swansea played Dreher. Their best bet for improvement is to steer clear of 3a 4a and top flight scisa teams and get as many players as possible playing at the lower lexington club team.

For the record, three starters began the second half. One stayed on at left back to work on his fitness, one played for three minutes and the other played for seven minutes. I had a couple of reserves start to cramp so one or two starters returned to the game for a brief time. The last five goals were by players who had never scored a goal in High School in their career.

Secondly, Swansea contacted us to play late in the fall when Hammond moved our game to a scrimmage and Bishop England couldn't play us. I agreed to play them for four reasons: 1) We had three holes in the schedule and it was getting late; 2) They are taking our place in Region 5 - 3A next year; 3) Cocach Jacques is good coach trying to build a good program at Swansea; and 4) Last year, I saw their JV play and thought they were a decent side.

Trust me, I've been on the other end before... wanting to play good teams to make us better, so I try to accomodate a request when I can.

Good luck to Swansea for the remainder of the year.

If they take your place where will ya'll be playing coach? In the region with AC Flora? I hate to see that happen, it takes away from the region importance of the Dreher BC rivalry. Also, I don't care that you accepted, I just think that asking to play teams at that caliber isn't good, teams that are 4 or 5 goals better than you is a good start, that way you still get to possess the ball.

We'll be in the 8 team upstate Region III. Teams are A.C. Flora, Blythewood, Camden, Chester, Dreher, Eau Claire, Fairfield-Central, and Lugoff-Elgin.

The current Region V will be Lowerstate Region IV next year.

benp, here is a link to the 2006-2008 SCHSL Realignment.

Richard Rowell, I don't think an explanation was even necessary for swanseawinger20, but the one you gave was apropos on all accounts!

those were nice assists by asher on the 10th and 11th goal
Posted By: dreherheckler Re: 3-2 games - 03/06/06 01:43 AM
yes starters did not stay in, and there is a difference between trying to run the score up and simply running your game plan. young bench players got to play and the only way for that game experience to actually mean anything is for them to play normally not hold back attempting not to score.
