Both of these teams seem to be doing well recently, I remember back when I played Rock Hill was always a joke but I have seen this year and last year they are producing. Can anyone explain?

South Pointe is a new team in the harshe York County area that seems to be off to a good season so far. (I know they havent played NW or FM yet but give it time)

Any explanation on why these squads are doing well, how were the schools split up, who on what squads are playing club (Northside or Discoveries or something else)?

A lot of people that would have previously gone to NHS were sent to RHHS, same with SP...a lot of the new faces have been playing DSC their whole lives..

with the new highschool, new school lines were drawn. I believe this years seniors were the group of kids that had to first switch schools due to the realignment*.

Northwestern will win Region 3 but Fort Mill, South Pointe, Rock Hill and Nation Ford will all battle it out for 2nd place.

One of these competitive teams will not make the state play-offs and the first place team from Region 2 will not get a very easy each match in the first round of states.

both SP and RH about half of the team if not more plays club ball mostly for DSC now and fort mill plays rock hill tuesday and that should be an interesting game and should tell us how rock hill really is and SP plays them the 25th

It's still very early yet, but I do not envy any team in the Upper State playoffs. Nobody will have an easy road and I expect there to be some major upsets along the way. The brackets are here:

NW, RHHS and South Pointe all have the advantage of a forty year program in the Rock Hill area. Great soccer town!

Rock Hill proved their standing tonight against Fort Mill.

Agree with you Import, RHHS a force to be reckoned with this year?

And it appears as though neither team gives up many goals. Should be a good series between the two this year.

Congrats to RH now they cannot be underestimated. Great example of a coaching staff and players taking their organization from the bottom to near the top.

From today's Rock Hill Herald.

I believe the correct name is GOROSPE.

Hard fought game, each team missed opportunities to end this late in regulation.

Great rivalry and will be for years to come.
