Wando wins the tour. Very impressive win over Summerville. This was a great game! Wando has now won the Tour. For the last 3 years in a row. The biggest surprise was seeing Coach Shilo Tisdale on the side lines. Coach Tisdale got married only a few hours before the kick off and was on the side line with his bride coaching his boys to the Chanpinonship! Congragulations Shilo!

I would like to thank everyone who attended this weekend. It was a great Tour. The field was in great shape and all teams played very well. It was nice to see some quality soccer played. I thought every team showed a lot of skill and heart. I would like to thank the parents who gave thier time to work this weekend. With out your help it would be very diffucult to have this tour. I also would like to thank the following people who Volunteered to work, Coach Blake, Coach Metzger, Coach Luden, Coach B. Williams, Coach O'Donald as well as the following Refs. Mark Tunbull, Buckey Jones, Howard Ash, Darren Sweet, Milen Pentchev, Michael Flato..These guys worked for free and did it out of there love for soccer! They deserve some kind words for there time. Thanks everyone and we will see you next year.

A JV team from the lower state will win it

It looks as if Summerville will be against Fort Dorchester, while the Warriors will be taking on the Bishop England team.

Summerville 1
Fort Dorchester 0

Fort Dorchester 3
Bishop England 2

- It was a rather interesting match, it was apparent to me that Bishop England was short a few players due to injury and card trouble. With Bishop England playing short a man, Fort played well to take an early lead that Bishop England couldn't overcome. Great game Fort!

I heard that BE pulled several players down from Varsity for this tournament. Does anyone know if Summerville or Wando did the same?
Posted By: Keeper 192 Re: West Ashley JV Invitational - 04/23/06 03:25 AM
As far as I could tell, BE pulled 2 (both 9th graders) and Summerville pulled 0, I know Wando pulled 0 varsity players
Posted By: Anonymous Re: West Ashley JV Invitational - 04/23/06 06:18 AM
Wando never brings down varsity players...then's been the longstanding tradition. It's kind of a slap in the face to the players that they have to bring in some extra support because the coaching staff doesn't have enough faith in their regular JV players...looks like Wando's been pretty succesful with this strategy...

What was the final between wando and summerville?
Posted By: Anonymous Re: West Ashley JV Invitational - 04/23/06 03:05 PM
Are you sure Wando hasn't brought down any varsity this year?
Posted By: OnTheField Re: West Ashley JV Invitational - 04/23/06 09:04 PM
I know of one player on the wando team that played varsity last year. He is now on the JV team.
Posted By: The Hammer Re: West Ashley JV Invitational - 04/23/06 09:55 PM
how can you play varsity one year and JV the next? how old is this kid?
Posted By: Keeper 192 Re: West Ashley JV Invitational - 04/23/06 10:28 PM
Hammer, Great Point...that's cause OTF is wrong. JV played with the 9th and 10th graders that made the team at the start of the season, noone else, 'period'.
Posted By: Anonymous Re: West Ashley JV Invitational - 04/24/06 03:50 AM
Granted, I am no longer at Wando and therefore can't substantiate any claim about this year, but I can say with 110% certainty that in past years, Wando has never brought down Varsity players

I'm confused. Who won the tourney? Who was in the Championship game? I see that BE lost to Fort D, but BE played Wando in the Championship game?
Posted By: Gentleman Dave Re: West Ashley JV Invitational - 04/25/06 11:34 AM
Nope....1st place match....Wando vs. Summerville. Wando comes out on top, amid swarms of screaming fans and biting no-see-ums.
