Good luck to Coach Hunter and the RAPID and the other S.C. teams competing!
The Lexington (LCSC) '97 girls were undefeated in winning the U13 Palmetto State cup championship this past May. Although the championship team normally gets the opportunity to travel to OK to represent SC, these girls were told they couldn't participate because they were a U12 team playing up an age group to win the U13 championship. USA 96 girls were given the spot instead. Good luck to them.
Unfortunately, the Congaree Rapid SKY92 team lost the opener 0:1 to Sidell (LA).

Someone may need ton confirm this, but I seem to recall that the MPSC 96 Boys Elite won the U13 Classic State Championship in 2009 as a U12 team. They were allowed to play in the regionals in Greenville that season.
In 2008, Columbia United 95 Elite Boys were allowed to play in the U13 Regional as a U12 team. Just saying...
one boy on a girls team, makes it a boys team.

one u-13 girl on a u-12 team, makes it a u-13 team.

A u-12 team playing in a u-13 league requires a coach with a u-13 license....

Just saying.

Good luck to all of the teams that were able to go.

That was then this is now. State officials, I assume that being SCYSA, told team manager the U12 team wasn't allowed to represent SC as the U13 champion. Whose rule that was is unknown to me.
Wait...I'm confused. They were allowed to compete against U13 teams, play in and win the U13 Cup, but now suddenly they're not allowed to be U13 representatives of SC?

Something seems a little odd there...sounds like either something wasn't enforced when it should have been or something is being enforced now when it shouldn't be.
Anyone knoew why the UPFC Crossfire did not go? They won the U14 boys division but I see that CUFC 95 Palmetto went to regionals.
I was told by a player on the team that not enough parents wanted to send the kids so they did not get to go. He was very very bummed by not getting to play, he would have been ok with going and losing every game he just wanted to play! Really sad!

What other sport requires licensing? Is there one? I find it humorous when people act like a license is a "I know all this about soccer because I took a D license course." Sure it gives basics in organization and soccer basics, but it by no means gives you authority on the sport.

Now, once you get to the national licenses in B and A, it's a bit different because you have to be technically proficient as a player and such, but come on, any Tom, Dick, or Harry can go get the D anytime this summer and after two weekends come back level with Bob Bradley.

Seems to really just be another money-maker for SCYSA.

Slight mis-type: LCSC 92G's are the ones with the two wins (and one unfortunate loss). However, they have earned the wildcard spot in the semi's tomorrow morning at 8AM.
