Ireland fail to qualify for Euro 2004 following a must win game with Switzerland which they lost 2-0 in Basel.
England qualify as group winners after a 0-0 draw in Turkey - David Beckham missed a penalty (put it in the 2nd tier of the stadium)

Euro 2004This event will be held June 12 - July 4 in Portugal. Listed below are the teams and groups:
Group A - Greece, Portugal, Russia, Spain
Group B - Croatia, England, France, Switzerland
Group C - Bulgaria, Denmark, Italy, Sweden
Group D - Czech Republic, Germany, Latvia, Netherlands
Euro 2004 will be great this year. Group B looks the toughest with France and England. I think Netherlands and Portugal will meet in the final, but the Dutch will upset the home crowd when Netherlands wins it all. Other predictions?
My heart says ENGERLAND my head says Italy.
Does anyone know if this is going to be televised on PPV.
dcut5,
it says in the May edition of Eurosport catalog that if you want to watch any or all of the matches you should call your local cable or satellite provider to order.
England has a chance, but first they have to get through the group stage with France, Then they have to get through Spain or Portugal.
Great home website for
Euro 2004 -- "From Portugal With Love".
If anyone wants to join the Euro 2004 Fantasy League, I've created a
Private League.
Kyle, I'm interesting in taking on you guys in another fantasy league - seeing as I've taken a bit of a lead in the MLS one I suppose this gives you guys another shot at the title!!!
Is there a password or anything required to join your league??
Just created a mediocre team - the prices they've listed on that site are a bit iffy to say the least!! 9m for Scholes?? 8m for Lizarazu?? But I do need a code for your league!!
Have got my team sorted, cant seem to get into the league. any ideas?

The Quarterfinals are now set and they don't include the "Big Three" of Germany, Italy, or Spain!
Who would have thought that England, France, Germany, Italy, and Spain would all have been eliminated and that Greece would still be alive? Great tourney!
So far, the semifinals include Greece/Portugal in one and the winner of the Netherlands/Sweden (Saturday) and Czech Republic/Denmark (Sunday) in the other.
Should be great matches!!!
The Dutch are through on PKs.
Portugal 2-1 Netherlands
The host squad will face either the Czech Republic or Greece in the Championship on July 4.
Greece 1-0 Czech Republic (Silver Goal)!!!
FINALS -- Greece vs. Portugal -- rematch of opening match of tournament that Greece won 2-1.
Greece 1-0 Portugal -- well played final and the Greeks certainly deserved the victory and the championship. Had a lot of fun watching the match at the Koutrakos household.
Amazing Greece!
I was in Europe at the time of Euro 2004, and talk about chaos. I thought it would be mad, but not this mad. Every pub was filled, but not as filled as the streets when teams won. After the Czech loss to Greece, it took me two hours to get home(normally 15 mins), driving around crazy hooligans, fires, and all of the drunk Greeks. What is even more crazy is that I was only in Koln, Germany at the time! The night England lost to Portugal, I was in London in a pub by the hotel I was at. After the game, it was probably the quietest night I had the whole trip. England put up a good fight, and the disallowed goal was a fluke. England deserved the win.
