I didn't get to see any of the games on Thursday, but did any of the teams impress? What about individual players on those teams?

South Aiken beating Dorman was impressive. That was SA's biggest win over a 4A opponent, as a 4A team. Ever.

Big win for North Augusta as well, taking down Ridge View in PK's.

Now, can Aiken County go 3-0 in the first round of the Viking Cup by having coach Tice's Aiken High Hornets out sting the Lady Jackets of TL Hanna?

Irmo, DF, SA looked good.

Woodruff had an awesome tournament.

Woodruff and Blythewood were two teams that surprised me by making it to a group final. Both schools looked good and should have great seasons.

Riverside was very solid, despite not having all of their bullets in the chamber.

Prediction: Wando over Riverside in the final in March. Riverside over Wando in the final in May.

From a 3A perspective:
#1 Eastside made it to its bracket finals and played a good DF team tough.
#2 Hilton Head looked strong and deserving of the #2 ranking in 3A if not #1 going 3-0 thus far.
#3 Fort Mill also had good results going 2 and 1.
#5 BC's only lost was to Dutch Fork (tied Byrnes and beat North Augusta) and this was without their leading scorer from last year(injured).
#6 Greenville looks to be a little down this year as they went 0-3.
#7 Chapin went 1-2 but losses were to Clover and Blythewood.
#9 Dreher only lost to Irmo and tied JL Mann and South Aiken. Their new keeper did a good job!

Overall the 3A teams competed well versus the bigger 4A schools.

Prediction: Wando over Riverside in the final in March. Riverside over Wando in the final in May.

That's what I've been trying to tell all the Riverside folks, Transplant, Gbdawgs, Boots, Snakeeyes, CornerKicker, Soccerpop, and Bomber. Excuse me if I missed a few. But I will say Mauldin will do our best to stop it from happening.
