I don't know about you guys but I'm tired of only having two refs instead of three, which is the way it should be. Games with only two refs have been called so badly. What do you guys think about this issue.

Well we had only one ref at our scrimmage last night and it really sucked. There were 15 fouls against us and only one against Heathwood Hall. I agree though, we do need three.

I have not seen a good game with two refs. It's time for the high schools to do it right and have three refs. The 4A games in the upstate have three. Much better.

We've played two games so far. We lost one because the refs were really really bad, and the other was actually pretty good. Usually I don't talk trash about the refs, because I am one, and I know how it feels to have to make questionable calls, but the game that we lost had a few of the worst calls I have ever seen, including a bad throw in call because I didn't let the ball go soon enough in my throwing motion, I think. I'm a certified ref, and I know how to throw a ball in. So yes, I agree, I think we need more refs or ones that actually know the rules of the game.

To Shank,

If you are a certified ref, then you know that refs have ethics they are supposed to follow. Included in the ethics is not disparaging other refs. Ask your ARA or Mr. Poyer about that. Let the other soccer experts continue to place ALL losses on bad reffing.

One question to everyone here, How come 3 refs are going to make everything better when you ALWAYS complain about the lousy reffing in the 3 man system? The ARs always miss offsides. The centers always are for the othe other team.

To Getinthegame

We are 3-1 with two refs, so this isn't complaing about a loss, the point of three refs is to control the game better, to attempt to keep the calls fair. The other night we had a ref tell us that he missed a call because he can't see that far. Plus having a ref control a game makes sure there are less injuries, I'm sure you don't want to loose a player this early into the season because of some bad refs.

the 2 man ref system is the worst they are horrible at calling offsides because they are never all the way to the last defender and have to guess, which most of the time they are wrong

I am a big supporter of the referees. They perform a thankless job without support from many venues. They do not do this job for pay because it is saddenlingly inadequate. They perform the critical functions of enforcing the rules, controlling the "passion" of the match and, protecting the players. A natural evolution of the game is the increasing speed and sophistication of play. Concurrently, the knowledge, judgement and, physical abilities of the referees must evolve. It is an injustice to the officating crew to have only two refs on the diagonal system.

I never have understood why they have only 2, is it due to lack of refs?
