The reason a defensive player never gets mentioned as 'best player' is that buy and large they don't get noticed. The good ones don't seem to have to make many spectacular plays or last ditch stands. They take care of business early enough to avoid all that. Everyone remembers the bicycle kick, even if it goes wide but they forget the forced turnover that led in to it 4 or 5 touches back.

I think the best player is Randell Eads of Fort Dorchester High. He is only in 10th grade and is probably leading his V team in goals and maybe leading the state right now.

I agree that Randall is a good player, but I don't know if he is best in state quality. He is a great forward and a huge contribution to Fort Dorchester, but I don't think I would say he is best in state. Maybe top twenty caliber, but not #1. I think Rudi Hellberger who plays defense for Fort Dorchester is probably their best player, and he is also a sophomore.

I thought Rudi was a junior, either way, he is a stud player.
