No body can deny that pinewood has been the front runner in SCISA for the past few years. But this year they may have the weakest schedual in SCISA. I see only 3 or 4 quality teams they play. does anybody know why they dont play some better teams other than like porter gaud and bishop england?

This years schedule was impacted by the rain out of games with BC, Fort D, James Island, and another during the Wando Tournament.

As for weakest schedule in SCISA, that's obviously an opinion, which I don't necessarily agree with.

As for playing better teams, I have been told it's been difficult scheduling games. Some of the local schools have not been able to match up dates for a game.

What other better teams would you recommend?

My opinion is they are well coached and gave us a great match. Socastee 1 P.prep 0 @ Wildcat Classic. They have talent!

Dont get me wrong here, Pinewood is a very good team. they have proved that time and time again, but being #1 for as long as they have , y dont they schedual teams like Chapin, Lexington, or any other top 3A/4A teams to really prove that their team can compete outside of SCISA.

I'm sure there are many reasons, some of those may include;

Travel Distance. Due to region play, Pinewood already has to make 3, 2 - 2 1/2 hour trips. Beaufort and Hilton Head twice.

Region tie breakers for some of these top schools.

They have to schedule 12 region matches each year.

There are some that would like to have better games, but with these factors above, it's hard. I'm sure if some of these other top 3A/4A schools would want to travel to Pinewood, it might make it easier. But I don't think that has been the case so far.

At the end of the day though, perhaps some of the difficulty they have in getting games with top teams is proof positive that they can compete outside of SCISA.

i agree and understand 99% of what you are saying. the only thing that bothers me is that last statement.

How does not playing the top teams at any point in time mean that you can play with them? I may be crazy but i figured you had to play/beat the best, to be the best, and not playing dosent quite cut it..... just my opinion.

803, Bear is saying that some of the better teams do not want to play them because they might lose to them. That is why they can not get games with 3a/4a teams. Bear if I am wrong please correct me.

My tact was not lost on all. So yes, you had it right.

The only time we seem to be able to get games is scrimmages or tournaments.

Not sure I understand your post. But that said, we do enjoy traveling to James Island each year. Am I missing something?
