I have a question. Do other JV games charge admission?

I ask this because I went to a girls JV game last week with a co-worker whose daughter plays at a private school in Columbia. I hadn't been to a JV game for ages and obviously neither had my friend (at least an away game).

He was shocked that he had to pay to watch his daughter play a JV game and created quite a fuss much to my chagrin. He told the person taking up money that he's never had to pay to watch her play club soccer. Anyway, we paid and watched them play, but he was an ill-hornet the rest of the day.

Note to self: never go to another game with that guy again!

Yes! every school charges, how will we ever pay for the REFS! $5. a game for everyone around here. Some private schools do not charge but they have a lot more money then us in the public schools.

I'm sure he does pay to watch her play club soccer...that's what part of the club fees are used for. Expenses for officials come out of the club funds, which come from the fees parents pay.

Kids get to play JV for free...the only way we can pay for officials (or, often, PARTIALLY pay for officials) is to charge admission. Compared to club fees, I'd say "What a bargain!"
