Airport has a very talented team and they played a great game tonight. Even first half, but they pulled away with some excellent goals in the second. Well-played game and proud of our effort tonight. Airport is extremely talented and we wish them the best in the remainder of their season!
Spartanburg contained Mauldin in the opening period of each half. Mauldin controlled most of the rest of the play. The first half goal came from a through ball from Lauren Young to Gracie Boswell leaving her to score from a one on one with the goalie. Again, in the second half Lauren Young crossed a low ball from the sideline, which Boswell volleyed into the net.
Two well-coached teams, the play was hard but fair. The two-referee system worked well and it was an excellent game to watch.
