off topic, but, can't let you get away with the phil jackson quote.
nba coaches don't develop players, they just help put them together & hopefully the million $ egos mesh. theres no developing going on in the nba.
i would also suggest that flakey phil only goes to big $ clubs where some pretty good talent has fallen into his lap.

In sideline chats with both D1 and D2 coaches for our club girls I often heard the coaches make statements like "she has good fundamental skills and we can use those to develop ..." or "she has good instincts, foot skills, and vision, we can work with her, get rid of a few bad habits..." and even "I won't take a girl thst is not coachable no matter how good she is, I need to teach her to play our style of soccer...". I always assumed college coaches wanted girls they could develop over all four or five years of college play.

Yeah, I always kinda figured if they were already as good as they're going to get when they get to college, there wouldn't be the tendency to have more juniors and seniors starting over freshmen...of course, you always have the chance of the freshman who comes in with superior talent, but it's not the majority.

Just read how two true freshman scored for the University of Florida in a 2-0 win over the weekend, wonder how much coach Becky had in the development of those players.

I'd guess little to none at this point...the real test of the theory will be whether they have hit their peak at this point, or whether they continue to develop and improve their game over the course of their time there.

It depends a lot on how well they train themselves, because according to sweet, they aren't gonna pick up anything from their coach.

And those two freshmen scoring in that match prove it!

No Belli, I just figured with all development the players received over the coarse of their college careers the seniors would lead the way. My point is simple, give the credit to the club and HS coaches that did the real front end developing

Maybe it's just been a long week, but could you explain what this means: "I just figured with all development the players received over the coarse of their college careers the seniors would lead the way"
