And finally ... at the end of the day this is all USSF's fault for not taking the bull by the horns and getting rid of the whole cumbersome process. They do not want to have to deal with the soccer moms but would like to have their children particpate in the beautiful game so they can be more competitive. You can't have everything. Either start the programs similar to the european system ( won't happen anytoime soon) or merge the two youth models and make a unified schedule system where everyone plays from date A to B and crowns are handed out on date B, and include promotion and relegation rules.

So if I understand...
1. There is only one team this applies to (CESA U-17 boys)
2. The issue is that a league they are in requires that they attend an event the same dates as state cup finals or be expelled from the league.
3. As a result, they are playing the semi-final game on Tuesday.
4. They are then playing highly competitive games Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday morning.
5. No time posted, but it appears the finals or consolation game would be on Sunday as well. Assuming that afternoon?
Is all that correct? Is this what the complaining is about?

that would be what is implied, but that was not, was stated in previous post which stipulated the finals would be played on the 19/20
you also have a game at 9:30 in Wilson NC, game would end around 11:30 time frame by the time you get in cars and head back on I-40 to I85 to I77 - about 4 hrs without stopping to eat or bathroom breaks that puts it at 3:30 earliest in Rock Hill. No traffic problems, no accidents, etc... I do not think itis doable.

I'm assuming from your reply that all points except possibly #5 are correct. All the grumbling is only related to the U-17 boys?
Is the date of the finals/consolation game definitive? I only ask because they have nothing posted. Any chance they'd play at 5:00 or 6:00?

I assume SCYSA will schedule the U-17 Boys final last (after 5 PM) so that CESA Premier can back to Rock Hill for the match.
What are the implications if CESA 92 Premier can't get back in time and forfeits? Do they still get R3PL the following year since they are the state finalist? Are they fined?
I heard that all State Cup matches at Manchester Meadows, except tomorrow night's semi-final between CSSC and CESA 92 Premier, will be played on the grass fields. No matches on Saturday or Sunday are currently scheduled for the stadium turf fields.

Word on the street is that if CESA beat CSSC the U17 Boys Final will be played the weekend of December 19.

Props to CSSC and SCYSA for accommodating CESA.

Then the entire U17 final and consolation need to be moved. If CESA wins, the CSSC would play the consolation on Sunday against a team that played Sat. If CSSC wins, they play the championship with 4 days rest against a team that wins Sat. Again, how is that fair to whoever plays CSSC on Sunday. Third place could end up being RIIIP.

In all honesty, for 17 year old boys, it probably has absolutely no impact. At least I know it wouldn't have impacted me at that age.

JAK,
That is one of the problems with the way we train in the US. After a 90 minute game, players shouldn't be able to play at a high level for a couple of days. We train our kids (due largely to tournaments) to "save" energy for the next game instead of play all out, rest for a few days and then play all out again. This is why there should be a sub limit for every game U15 and older.
