All,

I hope the following points will resolve the questions regarding CESA 92 Premier and the National League:

1. USYSA announced the formation of the National League about six months prior to USSF announcement of the academy program.

2. The USYSA National League consists of Premier League teams. It's not a tournament which any team can attend. Each year, eight select teams from around the country are invited to participate in the league in addition to their Premier League schedule.

3. The National League competes twice during a twelve month period. The first event during the '09-'10 season is this coming weekend at the D1 Final Four complex in NC, followed by a second event during the Spring in Florida.

4. As everyone knows, most States have their State Cup competition during the Spring. CESA 92 Premier is the first team to be invited to participate in the National League and as a result the acceptance of the invitation by the team created a unique set of circumstances for SCYSA, CESA 92 Premier and their State Cup competitors to deal with. To the credit of all parties involved, these circumstances were addressed by changing the dates the U17 age group would compete for the State Championship.

5. CESA 92 Premier will play one league match per day beginning this Friday. They will play the State Championship match sometime next week.

As I've previously said, our boys are grateful to SCYSA and each opponent for making accommodations to enable the team to meet their National League obligations, while also competing for the '09 State Championship. We are proud of the boys for their achievements and look forward to an exciting weekend of soccer in NC!
