Coach--the foul on the last play was against Swansea.....not against Airport--thus the reason the whistle was blown. It's interesting you congratulate the team and more specifically one player, when in fact soccer is a team effort. I am unbiased as I watch a lot of girls/boys soccer matches and actually went to see Swansea play last night, not Airport but Airport had the better run of play and I didn't feel like officiating was a factor at all. The collision at the end--the Airport player went straight up, the Swansea player didn't, hence the foul call.
Not directed at you Meredith but at some point people are going to have to quit blaming refs for everything. Everyone knows the refs in SC Midlands are not great but every week there are posts about refs blowing matches. Obviously, we need consistency amongst our referees but until that happens, coaches and players will have to learn how to adjust during a match. If you see he is calling tight, the adjust, if he let's you play, then adjust. But don't blame a match on a referee who is out there working unbiasedly for the good of youth/high school soccer
