Quote: Is this meeting open to members or the public? If passed..what does this mean for soccer in the lowcountry? Sorry for all the questions..Just trying to get a feel for what's going on and how does it impact the area..
Open to the public. Will not know what this means until the details are revealed.
From things I have heard it basically means MPSC players will have access to the Develpment Academy that left Coastal and moved to Columbia. Other than that not much else changes from what I hear. Just what I have heard.
I hear ya, Chapindad..Could'nt agree more I figured this is their way into academy play.. Whatever decision they make..I hope they take into account everyone's interest..
There's nothing that prevents players from academy play now. However, a license agreement with the town could very well mean access to facilities for training and games.
One would wonder why the Town would enter into such an agreement when it really is benefiting very few Town of Mount Pleasant residents. Should be interesting.
The Town just voted and passed the agreement to allow the MPSC Booster Board to sign an agreement with SC United. Interesting to see what happens in the upcoming weeks. Does anyone know if this changes anything at Coastal United? Are they becoming a part of SC United as well?
Does this mean that Mt. P will now become Coastal United and Coastal United(Bridge) will have it's own fields courtesy of Mt.P? How many dollars per player will Mt. P now have to sent to the mother club in Columbia?
Must not be to much to it..Does not seem like there is much uproar about it..Good or bad..Or those involved did a good job of keeping a lid on it.. Tryouts are in a month so I'm sure information will be forthcoming..MPSC fields are pretty crowded the last time I saw them..What Coastal is doing? Who knows..

CHT,
I don't think there is much uproar because only a few people know the details. People are just waiting to see how this shakes out. It appears MPSC and Coastal United(Bridge) will merge and be know as South Carolina United - Mt. Pleasant. Other than that, I know as much as the next person.
