Mount Pleasant Soccer Club Academy Parents and Players,
Mount Pleasant Soccer Club has recently entered into a licensing agreement with South Carolina United FC. Moving forward, Mount Pleasant Soccer Club Academy & Select programs will operate as South Carolina United FC Mount Pleasant. This upcoming year will be a very exciting time for our club under new branding and with a new brand in Nike soccer. We will continue to maintain our own governance, operations, fiscal autonomy, player selection, and league participation. Furthermore, the club will retain its traditional colors of white and maroon and will have an optional third jersey, royal blue in color, in its match kit.
The licensing agreement will allow our membership expanded opportunities in the game of soccer through the United States Soccer Federations Development Academy for boys. On the girls side of the club we will also be seeking entrance into the Elite Clubs National League in 2011-2012, the equivalent of the US Development Academy for boys.
As we seek better opportunities for all our players at all levels, we will also be hiring on to our staff many of the former staff of Coastal United FC (formerly Bridge FA) and encouraging their player membership to come to our tryouts. While it is our goal to provide better opportunities for all our Junior Academy(former Academy program) and Select players at Classic, Challenge, R3PL, and US Development Academy levels, we recognize that all players are free to choose where they will play at tryout time each year.
We very much look forward to continuing our longstanding relationship with the Town of Mount Pleasant Recreation Department. We are most appreciative of the incredible support its staff provides to enable every area family to enjoy this great sport of ours – youth soccer. The Town Recreation Department has worked hard at expanding field space for all our town sports and is working diligently to prepare our new complex at Carolina Park which will host at least 4 new lighted fields coming on line in August.
