Hearing rumors that LSYSA is being taken over by SCYSA. Any truth to this?

Some truth but details being ironed out.

SCYS presented the new Coastal league(s) this spring and a proposal was part of our recent Coastal district meeting held in Charleston. All coastal district clubs and leadership are aware and to a degree involved in the initiative so I would recommend reaching out to your club leadership for more information and latest status. Of course, I'll post what I can but may not be as 'in the know' as some others.

Currently Coastal district clubs are reviewing and providing guidance on structure and rules with oversight and help from our new SCYS coastal commisioner, Matt Hooker.

In many respects the new league will resemble LSYSA but there are a few key differences that many of us feel are beneficial. Key to the new proposal is an extension of support for ages up to U19 (from U14) and regional options that will reduce the amount of travel needed up and down our large coastal area (think Hilton Head to Myrtle Beach for a U10 rec game).

Our club like many others are involved with the planning and while there are still aspects and details to iron out, I think it is quite possible we will see new options for competition this fall.

Thanks, been getting some info trickled here and there from a few people and last weekend in Columbia I spoke with a few folks in the know up there. Where has Cainhoy kids been for 3v3 this year?

Can't speak for all our coaches but I did actually talk to two at a recent Battery game regarding 3v3.
One said he missed the competition since the marketing was apparently less. Not sure I believe that as I seem to get enough mailings in my inbox.

The other, like me was just enjoying a summer off after a hectic spring. In addition to that some of us are participating in summer training sessions and camps that have offered enough (at least for now).

Having said all of that, we are getting geared up now for the fall season and looking forward to September.
Looking like we will top 20 teams this fall and may even push one or two to Classic I / Challenge. Who knows.
In any event, I'll be around coaching a U13/14 girls squad in our neck of the woods and will look forward to meeting our friends at Summerville.

Contact me if your U9 or U10 boys teams are interested in a friendly prior to the season.
