We had a game in Columbia when my son was roughly 10 years old. The referee was a teenage boy. One of our parents started berating the referee and they got into a heated exchange. It escalated to the point where other concerned parents almost called the police. We happened to be discussing this incident 4-5 years later and someone was told of the story and later introduced me to the boy's mother. She said that her son never referred a game after that day.
