Is this a joke? We are going to play the state championships at Gilbert. How do we get this changed or is that a lock now? I also, mean no disrespect for Gilbert but come on. As said, there are plenty of quality to venues. I do agree Blackbaud would be a great venue. We already host all star games there, why not the state championship?

Rule❒1 The Field of Play
SECTION 1 SIZE OF THE FIELD
ART. 1 . . . The field of play shall be rectangular, 100 to 120 yards long and 55
to 80 yards wide. The following minimum dimensions are highly recommended:
a. High Schools-110 yards by 65 yards;
b. Junior High Schools-100 yards by 55 yards.

"Highly recommended" by NFHS. Mr. Singleton's stubbornness ignores NFHS rec, detracts from the game AND it will put players at greater risk for injury. I hope he is ready to explain the logic behind his decision to Johnny's attorney after he has his leg broken.

Never would happen. That would require the SCHSL regents to travel to Charleston and spend the night.

I know more than a few attorneys...Should we file an injunction?

Good point. I forget with HSL you have to take logic out of the equation

The best it ever was back in the day was the rotation between mid, lower and upstate. Furman or Clemson, USC, COC.

I have because I live out this way. At times it smells like chicken shoo-shoo! It's not exactly a soccer shrine (or football palace for that matter). But, it's a nice little stadium. Just hard to get there because it is a ways off I-20. It's 35 minutes from downtown Columbia (25 miles). Gilbert's boys team played for the AA State Championship two years ago and lost in the AA Upper State Championship last season so the locals do know a little something about the sport.

Do those things on the visitor side even count as stands? They look like they hold 15 people at the most!
