Group B must have been stacked heavily, not only was group play strong but group B teams won every game against other teams.

Good point soccernut2 ... Upon review Group B did figure to be the top group this year ... Group B teams finished atop their section of the "points standings" (i.e. -- NN 1-4, Wando 5-8, HH 9-12, Daniel 13-16) ... This is how the teams/groups fared in the Palmetto Cup:

The tournament was even better than last year! I am so proud of the BC boys for making it into the semi finals. They played their hearts out and they were a pleasure to watch! Keep up the GREAT work and thanks for all you do for soccer in SC!

Did anyone see the Wando loss to Norman North..What were some thoughts on Wando in the tourney?

Does anyone know why Airport doesn't play in this tournament? It seems that they have a better team the last couple of years compared to their past. Just wondering since they play 1/2 the games at AHS and it has such good teams each year.

Tough luck for Dreher and Flora. Some tough games for them. Doesn't look like I missed much from the 0-0 scoreline on Saturday. It was too windy for me!

How are the groups determined because group B definetly was stacked? Both Norman North and Wando were nationally ranked, and Daniel and Hilton Head also have very good teams.

Airport has a standing invitation to join the Palmetto Cup field and will do so for the 2006 event.

As for the group selections, many factors are weighed including the primary goal of not having any team play a fellow region member in group play ... This certainly affects the pairings ... In all, I believe the tourney breakdown was quite fair, as it always is intended.
