Well Kind of Benp...

I really wanted to move NW down but I had already moved FM.

The truth is that beating the teams you are supposed to beat, as far as I am concerned, gives you an = in performance. To me is irrelevant what the score is as there are many factors as to why it is high or low. Low means not more than 3-0.

So yes I made changes based on the opposition, and moving up two spots in the top half is substantial.

A I do not know how the calculations are made I offered my opinion.
Your list is another example where you applied logic across the classifications which in my mind places the teams more correctly with respect to each other.
For example Greenville at number 1 is more correct than DF at number 1 overall.

As many have tried to say...the list I provide, nearly everyone could be moved 2 to 4 spots up or down, but the basic jist i had was to get a ranking system with all 5 classifications. And later in the season, it will be more obvious where certain teams lie.

my question......how can irmo be ranked in the top 10 with 4 losses. i dont care how much potential they have or how many state championships they have. thats all in the past. i thought the rankings are based on this years performances.

Lampshade, let me clear something up about Irmo being ranked #10. The Yellow Jackets are 3-4 overall this season, but the SCHSSCA really views that as a 3-2-2 mark with only one loss to a South Carolina team (the other was to Norman North-OK). Penalty kick decisions are necessary due to the S.C. High School League rules, but are deemed ties when considering the rankings with a slight edge given to the "winners".

I do agree with Irmo not being ranked in the top 10 at this point in the season although I am sure that they should reappear in a few weeks once their offense begins to click. However the rest of 4A doesn't look much better so they are about where they should be. Here is what I think 4A should look like...

1. DF - can't move them down until they lose to a SC team
2. NW - only 1 loss and it was the first game of the year in PKs
3. Wando - only 1 loss to the #6 team
4. Spring Valley - Preseason loss to BE(good 2A team) and loss to #10 team
5. Lexington - Would have had them at #3 or #4 before loss to #14 so I drop them 2 spots
6. Hilton Head - Losses to #4, BE and #7
7. James Island - Losses to Eastside and #11 - big win over #6
8. Fort Mill - loss to Daniel and no big wins, can't be ranked any higher
9. South Aiken - Losses to #5 and a decent BL team drops them a few spots
10. Mauldin - Would have been top 6 until last 2 losses
11. Beaufort - only loss is to #3 and a big win against #7
12. West Ashley - losses to #7, #11 and N. Myrtle Beach(undefeated in 3A)
13. Irmo - losses to #1, #2, #5 and Norman North - can't award them a higher ranking
14. Dorman - Losses to #1, #15, Riverside and J.L. Mann drop Dorman to 11
15. Ridgeview - has 4 losses including 2 to #5 and Aiken and Chapin

i dont care. they have a losing record. more losses than wins. WINS get u in the top 10. even if u take away the norman north game, which i agree is a really reall tough game and no one really expects to beat them, they are still at a .500% record

the SCHSSCA should view it as it is (3-4) not (3-2-2). otherwise, what is the point of having the rule that says high school games can't end in a tie in the regular season.

lampshade... I didn't put them in the top 10. I did drop them all the way to 13, which I do think os fair seeing the teams that they lost to.
