Actually lexington is in control of their region because south aiken is in now way as good as they were last year. And when south aiken beat lexington it wasnt by much. I was at that game and lexington dominated the whole game but they couldnt just get the ball in the back of the net. The lexington defense made one bad mistake and SA capitilized on it. In my opinion lexington should be ranked higher than 8th.

I ageee SA is good but not as good as they have been in the past. Lex can beat them. It will be a good game either way it turns out. That game pretty much decides who will win that region if neither of the two teams slip up.

South Aiken already beat Lexington in their first game. And with Jamal back in the second, it will be even tougher for Lexington. I will go out on a limb and say Jamal wins that region.

As the announcer would say.... WOA!!!! Nelly...

How in the world can you say that Irmo with 4 losses can jump that much. Strictly reputation and that should not happen

I'll give NW the #1 even though they have a weak schedule. I'll go along with HH and Wando as #2 and #3. I think 6, 7 and 8 should move up 2 spots. My #7 would be DF, #8 Irmo and #9 SA. The rest are good as they are.

And Benp... you are right that Jamal is player. And he will be trouble for Lex, but frankly is not like they haven't been playing twice a year the last 4 years.

Also I checked the schedule and Lex and SA have split the season so far. To make your statement more correct, SA won the first REGION game.

Here's an analysis of the 4A Boys Rankings this week:

RANK TEAM (RECORD), OPP. RECORD, GF-GA, VS. TOP 15 (PTS)
1. Northwestern (11-1), +30, 85-7, 3-0-0 (9)
2. Hilton Head (12-3), +33, 47-15, 3-2-1 (10)
3. Wando (12-2-1), +24, 58-5, 2-2-1 (7)
4. Irmo (10-4), +36, 53-15, 2-1-2 (8)
5. South Aiken (11-3), +4, 60-16, 1-0-1 (4)
6. Spring Valley (11-3), +53, 48-8, 3-2-1 (10)
7. James Island (9-3-1), +45, 36-11, 3-1-1 (10)
8. Lexington (11-2), +18, 49-14, 0-1-3 (3)
9. Dutch Fork (10-3), +33, 45-14, 0-1-3 (3)
10. Fort Mill (10-2), +19, 49-7, 0-1-0 (0)
11. Dorman (10-5), +59, 26-14, 1-2-2 (5)
12. Mauldin (10-3), +25, 37-13, 1-1-0 (3)
13. West Ashley (9-4-1), +38, 45-18, 2-3-0 (6)
14. Summerville (8-7), +60, 45-23, 0-5-1 (0)
15. Beaufort (7-3), +8, 33-13, 2-2-1 (7)

Note: games decided by penalty kick shootouts are recorded as ties.

Best schedules: 6 games vs. 4A Top 15 teams -- Hilton Head, Spring Valley, Summerville; 5 games vs. 4A Top 15 teams -- Beaufort, Dorman, Irmo, James Island, Wando, West Ashley.

Hindsight is 20/20, but after looking at the rankings today (as opposed to yesterday), I would only make one change and that would switching #14 and #15 -- however, they play head-to-head this week, so it will probably be a moot point.

Thanks for the explanation... I am sure it is a thankless task. I just provided my opinion based on seeing the games and the competition within it.

thanks

Kyle,

Games decided by PK shootouts are recorded as ties in the eyes of the "ranking committee".

So Northwestern boys, Greenville boys and Fort Mill girls are the only "undefeated" teams in the state.

Good try but if you loose you loose, regardless of what a committee says. There should be a zero in the loss column.

Otherwise get rid of this whole PK stuff and have ties.

For a point system to be more appropriate, a PK win should be considered half a win. Tournament ties should be 1 point. Or have no ties whatsoever, tournaments or otherwise.
