They cant help it if the level of competition in their area/region is low. Basically they out class every other team in their region. I know the starters could just not score but i assume that subs play most of the game and they might not get so many goal scoring opportunities so its pretty hard to keep subs from scoring.

I don't think it's a lack of sportsmanship by NW....Lancaster has a tendency to lay down when they're behind.

UpperNineDee - No, their scores dont intimidate me, my point was not directed to their team in that way - I just feel sorry for the programs that have to deal with losing like that - I mean 16-0 - I wouldnt wanna play another day after a loss like that. Secondly, their coach should have enough respect for other programs to put limitations on their game after being up 10 - 0 (such as possession, things in that nature) - Its just about respect of the game (nw is a very good team, everyone knows that already)

the game was called 28 minutes early because 96's players and coaches were mouthing off so much. the ref had already given three yellow to 93 in like the first five min of the second half because of blatant fouls, and cussing at the ref.

ManU if you were on the losing team and the other team played possession for 40 min how would that make you feel? The only time your team would get the ball is if they made a mistake.... It is the other teams job to stop you from scoring. The other team will respect you more for playing then doing some of the other things your talk about. How long would it take the other team to figure out that you are not trying to score? That is more demoralizing than scoring. You may not see the point but then again you are not a coach. This has been talked about on many other boards that are all coaches from diffrent parts of the conuntry and world, it alwarys ends up the same it is better to play your game and let the subs get time. I mean how would a sub feel if the coach told him to go in but Don't score!! Why bother. I am not tring to disrespect anyone with my post. If what I said upsets you or makes you mad I am sorry for that.

Just another good example of why we need a mercy rule.

For the record, any team that gets a lead on me may stop the scoring as soon as possible...Everyone at the field may know it could have been 20-0, but if everyone reading the scoreboard sees 5-0 it will help my pride (of course posters will say it could have been worse, but they say that regardless).

The Rock Hill Herald reported (statistics supplied by NW) that those 16 goals were scored on 18 shots.

there should never be a mercy rule. That is worse then getting stomped.
