I just have to give a shout out to the SV keeper tonight, best game I've seen played by a keeper in a long time. Saved at least 5 great oppurtunities by Irmo's stacked offense, and stopped the final PK to win the whole shabangabang. As long as lower richland doesn't upset spring valley, say hello to the champs of Region 5.

Final Score

Parkview (GA) 1
Mauldin 0

Mauldin controlled most of the game, had more shots and overall outplayed Parkview, but it's goals that count and Parkview was able to get a cleanup goal off of a save from the Mauldin keeper.

Excellent game by Mauldin against a strong 5A team.

A short recap of the Spring Valley Irmo game.

shots: 10-6, Spring Valley with the edge

I agree that Spring Valley's junior keeper had a great game, but I don't know that there were 5 shots on target during the game. From what I remember, he had 2 excellent saves that made a huge difference in the outcome, but Spring Valley had the better of the play. Super sophomore Sean Flynn had many opportunities, and hit maybe 4 shots just wide. Parker Arnold recieved the only yellow card of the night, as he was given the job of keeping Zack's head out of the game, which he did a good job of. Christian Monroe was injured in the first half, not sure exactly what happened, or the extent of his injury, but it didn't look too bad. I thought the team playing towards the school had the better chances all night. (first half, Spring Valley was more dominant, while Irmo picked up their play in the second, despite missing their key midfielder).
