40,

Fort Mill JV's did well at Irmo but fell 2-0 to a bigger, faster Summerville squad.

We have two club games in Spartanburg on Saturday and then JV matches next Wed & Thur so we get off easy with only four games in six days.

my last comment on the thread fomerly known as "scores 3/1/05" Until the weather gets above 40 degrees the ealier the game the better. Because we all know the only thing worse then playing in cold weather is sitting in the stands. See ya in another thread.

ChapinDad,

I feel your pain about all of your daughter's games starting at 5:30, I really do. But sometimes you just have to accept the situation for what it is. Shearer was right about attendance numbers at boys games compared to the girls. If there are schools out there that get higher attendance at girls matches, I applaud you. That's not been my experience. It also has nothing to do with the quality of play. For example, for B'ball games at Dutch Fork, the girls play first and draw 50% of the attendance that the boys team does, until late in the game when the boy's fans show up. Tomorrow night the DF Girls Varsity B'ball team will be playing in their 3rd State Championship Game in 4 years. The boys didn't even make the playoffs this year. Is it fair that the boys always play last and get better attendance? No, of course not. Is it the reality? Yes, and whether I like it or not, its not going to change. At least not anytime soon. So, repeat after me:

God grant me the serenity
to accept the things I cannot change;
courage to change the things I can;
and wisdom to know the difference.

At T.L. Hanna we do not have this problem as there is standing room only at both boys and girls games. See ticketmaster for games for 2006, we're already sold out this year.

I really like Shearer's idea for selecting the games. At least it would be based on performance instead of sex, and that is all I am asking.

I understand the numbers game, but the women's games are growing and while everyone else is doing a zip lets do a zag. (Like how I worked that in.) Lets start promoting women's sports as an equal instead of a requirement.

BTW. I really wish it had a spell check, also. I can write programs in about 10 different computer languages but english is a real Bear. I really admire reading posts from Mark and LPAF.

Radio's travel has been drastically reduced due to his speaking engagements...well, actually Coach Jones engagements. Coach speaks, then Radio ask if they have bought the "DBD". He promptly tells them to go to "Wahmat" and get it on sale.

He does not travel with us, however Coach Smith has logged many hours with him. I spend enough time feeding him during football season to earn myself a break during soccer.

I've got a great photo of Radio that I'm trying to paste into this board and I just can't figure out how to do it!
