I can tell you basically what happened with the Wando-Berkeley game. Not so sure about West Ashley-Stratford but I saw everything in the Wando game (I should have... I was playing.)
In the first twenty minutes of the first half, Berkeley had some really lucky 'saves'. There were times when everyone thought it was a goal only for it to hit a post or for a defender to come out of nowhere to deflect it. Berkeley stepped up the last twenty minutes of the first half and shut down Wando. At the half, the score was still tied 0-0.
The second half, Wando stepped up and scored one within five minutes. Berkeley held them off again before they scored, bringing it 2-0. Falling into their own trap (otherwise known as the '60-second Rule') Wando scored again soon. Berkeley held them off for the rest of the game.
As a player on the Berkeley team, I like to say we really stepped up and played well tonight. Though, definitely no disrespect to Wando, they are a great team with alot of skill and talent. For Berkeley, bringing the score to 3-0 shows alot of improvement; the first time we played Wando, the score was 7-0. Both teams played well tonight; the score doesn't reflect any kind of fall-out by Wando (who, according to rankings is the 'stronger' team,) but a great, hard game played by both teams.
