Never gave up on SC. But as a coach you do whats best for your team and as a parent you do whats right for your kid.

When we were U9-10 there was virtually no one to play in SC. St Giles was all in house at that time, as I guess were the Mount Pleasant's and Summervilles. No legit league, few teams to play friendlies with. Charlotte, by contrast, had a dynamite league.

If you want to develop the state....you need competitive leagues. And the CESA's of the world need to support them. Therein lies the connundrum. Bridge and CESA do whats right for their kids, but it impacts kids elsewhere in the state by denying them the ability to compete against the best. Because of this, the talent pool never builds and ultimately the super teams are hurt by a lack of in-state competition.

I agree with Chico's numbers and conclusions and am hopeful that SC offers an option to us in the future.
