Dane was flashy, but he didn't do a single productive thing for Clemson. Greg Reece didn't have much trouble with him. He held the ball too long.

Possibly because there was no one else from CU that could match his speed.. and he definitely sent some balls into the middle of the box after driving the wing.
"Greg Reece didn't have much trouble with him." ..mmmk..

None of the freshmen field players from SC (Newton, Lewis, Williams) made it on to the pitch.
The OT goal hit the left post and rebounded back into a Carolina defender before going in. Officially credited as an own goal. Tough break, no fault of the defender.
Clemson seemed to me to control most of the match. Clemson was faster, Carolina was bigger. Gamecocks tried to neutralize the Clemson speed with physical play and it worked for the most part.
The Carolina goal was a very heads up play off a lazy drop to the keeper.
The one thing that stood out to me most from Friday night was Gustavson in goal. He kept Carolina in the match in the first half with two spectacular saves. That young man was impressive.

Neither offense looked good. Clemson's 2 goals were ugly. Carolina defense & 'Goose' was the only thing good about the match.

If you had worn orange I would have spotted you! You tigers were fortunate to win that one. All Carolina had to do was clear the ball at the end, before that crap goal.

No cowbell, but I did sit just down from the cow bell guy. He and his Clemson buds thought they were at an intramural football game and kept hollerin for a long pass and encouraging the 'orange boys' to clip more often. I also saw Coach Purnell trying to recruit some of the soccer players. What was up with that? Clemson basketball must be getting desparate.
