Looking at www.scysa.org there is an interesting matchup between CUFC Elite and Lexington United who is coached by Coach Berson. Any thoughts any these two teams and how they've played if you've seen them play?? I'm looking forward to possibly watching this game.

CUFC should take Lex.
Berson's team lost to the Lex. Arsenal at Aiken, and they have only played one game in 2 wks.

That's what I was thing 2004striker. Judging from the tournaments each team has played in. CUFC I heard should have gone through in the Disney tournament but found some unfortune with points and redcards. They finished with a 2-1 record according to disneysoccershowcase.com. Any other opinions on this game?

Well, the only opponent I thought they had in common was CSC Coastal FA. CUFC won 9-0; LCSC only won 6-0. According to my math, that means that CUFC will beat LCSC by 3-0.

I'm of course ignoring...Mark Berson as the coach, two region pool players plus a load of state select ODP players...the close loss to national finalist Concorde Fire (2-1 with the equalizer scored on a PK) last weekend...and the like.

More seriously -- it ought to be a good game -- good luck to both teams.

I believe the Concord game was a scrimmage. And I did not see Lex. perform too well at Aiken, which has very few good teams. The U18 Lex. club Arsenel, beat them at Aiken for the championship. But with the talent on that team they should not lose to the older boys, who have little talent.
And you have coaches Miller v. Berson, two great motivators.
Should be fun to see.

While Lexington might have the more popular and high profile names on the team, CUFC has a very strong group of kids and Miller is a heck of a coach, even if he doesn't coach collegiate ball.

I'll put my virtual money on CUFC, but I won't be suprised if Lex won. Only a blowout by either team would surprise me.

2004striker: It should be an interesting game. Certainly no one seems to give Lexington much of a chance. I understand that -- after all, CUFC has to be the favorite given the merger and all of the resources that are available in a club that size. I was once again just trying to point out an alternative point of view.

My bad. I got my F and S mixed up. I'll edit it so I don't confuse you.

Cornerflag: Re: "confusing me" -- too late! But to your credit, I'm pretty much permanently confused.

I wish I could go to this game, but I'll be up in Greenville at CEFA's RBC tournament. Good luck to both teams.
