I heard something that I'm trying to confirm because I don't know whether it was a rumor or an announcement.

Did Summerville Soccer Club last week officially decide to sever ties to Bridge FA?

There was a meeting last week but I do not believe there was any vote on the matter...I think Bridge made some proposals to the SSC board and I guess it's up to SSC to accept or counter those proposals.

I am a first time user of this message board and would be very interested in any comments and information that someone in the know has on the SSC and Bridge issue.

Chances are, your best opportunity to get information from the "people in the know" would be to send e-mails to your respective club leadership, either SSC or Bridge. The e-mail addresses can be found on the respective web pages.

Isn't it amazing how some of these clubs put up web sites but don't use them to distribute timely and useful information? Doesn't make much sense to me -- particularly with some of the charges from these web site companies!

You've got to give the SCYSA credit; while there's still a lot more they could do (I'm sure that there's a lot more any organization can do), they've actually taken steps to make this better for the SCYSA organization itself.

I tend to agree with you on that. I've heard it numerous times in various meetings, "I didn't get that information", and the response, "it's posted on the web page". Until organizations make their respective web pages useful for the membership, then people just don't look at them. They wait for personal contact, albeit, the impersonal e-mail.

I think that it's going to be business as usual as far as players and parents are concerned with the relationship between the two clubs...I believe the things that the two have to work out is field expenses and usage and the selection of younger teams that was not a part of the prior agreement..These issues probably will not make a website

CHT,

I hope your wrong on this one, "business as usual as far as players and parents are concerned". At the end of the day, that's what lead to the near separation. So here it is more than 6 months later, and the same two "issues" still need to be "worked out". It really shouldn't be that hard. And the truly sad thing is, that demonstrates business as usual.

I feel the two will come to an agreement...One meeting once a month does not make things move swiftly

SSC had thier monthly meeting scheduled for 3 Jan did anyone attend? Was any discussion on the Bridge issue addressed or is this being address just between the executive board?

Seems general membership from both sides do not understand the issues and it is being worked on behind closed doors.
