Is Marion not that good this year or does Darlington have a team? I find it hard to believe Darlington beat them.

Tonights game vs. Waccamaw will be a true measuring stick for Marion.

Palmetto's Goalie was red carded 8 minutes into the 1st half. Palmetto then played the remainder of the game with only 10 men. It was an extremely rough game, with several other yellows handed out. Not well played - - - Sorry this has to be the nature of this match. 4-A versus 2-A - but in the same school district.

I was just wondering, what was Palmetto's Goalie red carded for? If you don't know or don't want to discuss it, I completely understand.

I do not know exactly what the "official" call was. The goalie took exception to a hard (but legal IMO) slide by the Wren striker. He claimed the guy kneed him and intentionally hit him. The goalie then retaliated by wrestling the guy and throwing punches.

This stemmed from a scrimmage incident last week in which the same goalie took exception to rough play and words exchanged by the same striker. (Again IMO) The tension was high and an opportunity afforded itself to retaliate.

The goalie is young (10th grade). He had a great freshman season. He could develop into one of the best goalies Palmetto has ever had, but must learn to control his temper and response.

Yeah, did you see his mouth from that legal IYO slide? But hats off to the rest of the PHS team for holding perrenial 4A Powerhouse Wren to just 5 goals with a man down for 72 minutes.

When was Wren a powerhouse?
