05 Eastside (Huffstetler-sp?), 05 South Aiken (Geathers, Gustavson), 04 Irmo (Mullins, Moody, Prince), 01 Ridge View (Stovall), 06 Northwestern (Martinez, Benson, Kropp) are ones that jump out at me...any other top teams (w/ key players)?

I played against that South Aiken team of Geathers and Gustavson team and they were amazing. You couldn't score on them and I had never seen someone that much better than everyone (Geathers).

The state championship match up between Irmo and South Aiken in 2005 was one of the best matchups in several years. South Aiken had won earlier in the year 2-1 but Irmo had been reduced to 10 men about twenty minutes into the game. The State Championship was a very entertaining one and yes the 2005 South Aiken team has to be considered one of the best teams in SC history but I would also but the runner up 2005 Irmo team (Spencer Lewis, Austin Moody, Sani Hadziametovich, Zach Prince) as one of the best teams as well. The '05 Irmo team I think was better than the '04 Irmo team, it just so happened that South Aiken had a magnificent team as well.

Northwestern's '05 team beat Irmo's '05 team that year. Northwestern also lost to Eastside in PK's that year. Their other loss came to South Aiken in the Upperstate Championship. I would definitely put that Eastside and South Aiken team up there on the ranks. Irmo and Northwestern's '05 fall right behind those two.

Dorman 01? I was at the game when Dorman beat Irmo. It was off of a missed offsides call, and a missed call of a goal off of a deflection from the crossbar. Then with about 10 minutes left, Randy Owen almost single handedly won the game for Irmo, scoring two goals in the last few minutes of the game, and almost scoring the goal that would have tied it up on a couple other occasions. Dorman had a good squad, but they weren't phonemonial. Some of the Irmo teams of the late 90's, and early 00's were good, and RV and don't forget some of the Wando teams of the early 90's.

I would agree that the 01 Dorman squad might not be one of the most skilled teams in SC History. But if I remember correctly they were predominantly sophomores? I too watched them beat Irmo as well as the final against Ridge View (..hope I'm getting my years right).

So maybe they didn't have big names..but I think that was definitely a special group.

I'd also have to dispute Dreher 06. Probably one of the better 3A Lowerstate squads (before the Final) in recent years..but not in the same league as Bishop England and South Aiken. Sorry.

If greenville wins out this season will they be the only team to ever go undefeated

thats not true, I know Irmo has gone undefeated before. They'll be the only undefeated team this year, but not the only team to ever go undefeated.
