like who?

For example Valley's opponents have good winning records even though they lost to SV who is undefeated.

We can argue all day long about the weak schedule for R3 4A but NW plays SV,Lexington, etc...

I believe if you look at Valley's schedule and strength of opponents the formula holds.

mainly R3 4A outside of NW. They have not played or beaten anybody of any quality.

One must also take Opponents of the Opponents Win/Loss %, multiple by the standard deviation of the number of teams played with this new Win/Loss % (using of course only the actually teams played within the study group) . Then, by taking the 5th harmonic, this will produce a linear equation that one can take the integral of (over the total number of games).
Wow! Looks like BC will take it all!

BTW futbol, this is good stuff. Thanks for posting.

I think the strength of schedule is also interesting when considering the "wow" factor of # of goals a player scores in a season.

Although Dutch Fork was not ranked at the time, their opponents also have a 66% winning percentage. I find it hard to believe that they shouldn't atleast be ranked in the top 15 in 4A. I know people may say that a team that is 9-10 shouldn't be ranked, but their performance against top quality teams should have them atleast in the top 15. PK's against SV and Irmo both. Tie with BE. 1-0 loss to Lexington. 2-1 loss to Chapin. I realize that they have yet to beat one of these teams, but thats why they should be ranked 12-15th ish. What is more impressive, those results... or 4-2 over Clover and 3-0 over York and 1-0 over Nations Ford? I guess rankings don't really matter come playoff time, but I think those results should atleast be given a little credit. Without Quinlan there, Coach Woodward will have those boys ready to make some noise come playoffs.

Ridge View has had a tough scheduel this year especially considering that it is a rebuilding year. Out of their 13 loses, 10 have been to ranked teams. I'm glad though. It will give our 5 freshman and 6 sophemores that extra experience to face the better teams in the future. Ridge View also plays SV tonite for anyone who wants to come watch a great game.
