Pires ruled out for the rest of the season 25 March 2002
Results from a scan have revealed that Robert Pires has sustained serious cruciate knee ligament damage and will be sidelined for several months, missing the remainder of this season and the World Cup finals in Japan and South Korea.
It's a bitter blow for the French international who has been in magnificent form this season and an instrumental figure in the Club's challenge for honours. Robert is expected to undergo surgery later this week and everyone at Arsenal Football Club wishes Robert a full recovery.
