What: S.C. Athletic Coaches Association's - SCACA All Sports Clinic

Who: SCACA Members -- SCACA 2020-2021 Membership

Where: Greenville Convention Center

We are looking for a presenter for this summer's SCACA Clinic in Greenville on July 24. If you have a coach or other soccer entity that you would like to present at the Clinic, please send an email to me at kheise@grayca.com. We have to turn in our soccer speaker/presenter by May 1, 2020.

The SCACA is here to serve our state coaches. Our best way to serve coaches is through their SCACA membership.

The 2020 SCACA membership drive began at the March AD/Principal Conference when AD’s picked up the packets of membership forms. Those that were not picked up were immediately mailed to the schools. Then, the COVID pandemic closed schools the following week which has presented multiple challenges to students, teachers/coaches, school districts, and communities.

Normally, SCACA membership forms are handled in a variety of ways:

· AD’s completing the forms for the coaching staff with payment issued by the school, district office, booster clubs.
· AD’s distributing the forms to individual coaches with the individual paying for his/her membership.
· Individuals completing the online form on sccoaches.org and utilizing PayPal
· On-site membership registration at the July All-Sports Clinic

With the closure of schools for the remainder of the year and staffs not on campus daily, there may be another challenge. Please evaluate your situation and begin the SCACA membership process when feasible.

Currently, the SCACA office is working toward the July Clinic, but will be awaiting future mandates and guidelines. Nevertheless, remember the All- Sports Clinic is just one of the perks of SCACA membership when considering the advantages of the $2,000,000 general liability insurance coverage, the scholarship programs (174 recipients for 2020) and the support.

THE SCACA STAFF AND THE SCACA BOARD OF DIRECTORS ARE ANNOUNCING THE
CANCELLATION OF THE ANNUAL ALL SPORTS CLINIC, JULY 26-29, AT THE
GREENVILLE CONVENTION CENTER. WE BELIEVE THAT WE MUST MAKE THIS
CAREFUL AND CONSERVATIVE DECISION REGARDING THE LARGE FACE-TO-FACE
GATHERING OF COACHES FROM ALL OVER OUR STATE, PARTICULARLY SINCE
THERE IS NO CLEAR UNDERSTANDING OF THE PREVENTION AND TREATMENT OF
THIS VIRUS.

OUR PLANS ARE TO POSTPONE THE ANNUAL AWARDS BANQUET WHICH HONORS
THE COACHES OF THE YEAR RECIPIENTS, THE SERVICE AWARD RECIPIENTS, AND
THE FIVE 2020 HALL OF FAME INDUCTEES (DR. JERRY BROWN, THE LATE MAX
CLYBURN, JOHNNY GOODWIN, BRAD PORTER, CLOVIS SIMMONS) TO A LATER
DATE IN THE FALL.

THESE ARE DIFFICULT, CHALLENGING TIMES, AND WE HAVE THE UPMOST
CONCERN FOR THE WELL BEING OF OUR ATTENDEES WHO REPRESENT A WIDE
RANGE OF AGES, GUEST SPEAKERS AND VENDORS WHO COME FROM OUT OF
STATE AND WITHIN STATE, AND OUR STAFF AND CLINIC WORKERS.
