Lugoff-Elgin won over Crestwood 8-0. Well played by both teams.
Posted By: Anonymous Re: White Knoll Tournament - 04/05/02 09:47 PM
Lugoff beat Crestwood 8-0. Lugoff moved the ball really well. Crestwood had a couple of chances, but didn't capitalize.

So what happened? Was it close at the end? Any cards? Who scored goals? and how about scores from the other matchs.
Posted By: Anonymous Re: White Knoll Tournament - 04/06/02 03:22 AM
Goes anyone know what happened between Airport and Blackville-Hilda? Who won between them tonight and how did the game go?
Posted By: Anonymous Re: White Knoll Tournament - 04/06/02 03:40 AM
wk supposedly played really sloppy against cma. We were missing 4 starters including myself. Our team captain was missing from the midfield, and our sweeper, stopper, and myself were missing from the defense. I watched some of the first half of airport and bh. Airport was dominating the game while i was there. I left with 15 minutes left in the first half and airport was up by 2.

Airport won 4-0 against blackville hilda...no cards
Posted By: Jack Rozier Re: White Knoll Tournament - 04/07/02 12:43 AM
L-E beat Blackville-Hilda 11-0. Goals from Matt Harris 4, Will Roberts 1, Matt Tyson 1, Joe Garber 1, Brian Clifton 1 (maybe two), Matt Peake 1, Joey Brasington 1, and the last goal I forget who got it..but Gomez did not. The officials left something to be desired. L-E got two cards and B-H got none. It wouldn't have been a problem if they called the same thing both ways.

L-E lost to Airport in the 5:00 match tonight 2-1. My personal opinion...the game sucked. The refs were inconsistent, but we lost the game ourselves. It was the same two refs from the B-H game. And they not only didn't call stuff for us but they missed calls for Airport too. There was one yellow card recieved by Airport but other than that all the other calls seemed to be against L-E. But its not the ref's fault...we didn't play our game...we pretty much played kick ball and kick it to the forwards....hardly any constructive passing. Maybe its just b/c i'm a defender but I think the defense was pretty solid considering the ball was on our side of the field most of the game.

I'm not sure but I don't think L-E is out of the championship match yet. I haven't added stuff up...the points system at this tourny was a little odd. But i'm pretty sure its going to end up being Airport and Belton H.P. in the finals and L-E and i think White Knoll for 3rd and 4th place.

It will all unfold within' the hour probably.

The L-E Dude defense player of the tourny award goes to Matt Watts...don't you feel special.

Thats about it...i'll leave the other scores to ..well the others.

White Knoll won 1-0 over Chester. WK dominated the whole game. They rarely had posession that did any damage at all. We just couldnt put anything into the net. They always had at least 7 players in the box to defend. We played sloppy offensive wise.

Kudos to Coach Caferty. The Timberwolf Shootout has been a first class operation. Thanks Brendan for all of the efforts that have gone into the tournament. The Demons have enjoyed it; great way to end spring break!

anyone know what happened between crestwood and blackvill-hilda? (i'm asking because i wasn't there) and if crestwood did beat blackvill-hilda, do they play for 5th place? and what time? if i get a answer asap i would greatly appreciate it.

I'm pretty sure it was a 1-1 tie...I don't know where that puts you guys though.
Posted By: Anonymous Re: White Knoll Tournament - 04/07/02 02:40 AM
Se, we play in the 5th place game. NO THANKS TO YOU. Not real sure who against though. We unfortunately got a 1-1 tie like dude had said. It wasn't to their credit though, it was just a defensive laps. But overall the tournament has run pretty smoothly.

HOLLA AT A PLAYA!!!

The Airport Vs. L-E game was well played by both teams. Airport came out strong and put a goal in earlier in the game giving them the lead. Kyle Rabon had an EXCELLENT direct kick from about 25 or 30 yards out which gave the Eagles 2-0 lead. Lugoff put one in one a p.k. awa [Wink] rded later in the second half. Good game to both teams and good luck to Airport in the finals.

L-E beat White Knoll 5-3 earlier today to take the 3rd place spot in the White Knoll tourny. L-E controlled most of the 1st half ending it 2-0 (White Knoll did have several chances in the first half. One #16 was wide open on the right side and blew the shot.) The beginning of the second half White Knoll scored twice off two corner kicks... then L-E took it back and eventually pulled away. I think the 5 goals were split between Gomez and Harris...kudos to John Jordan, Joe Garber, Matt Watts, and Brian Clifton for playing a great 4 games.

Airport won the tournament 2-1 over BHP. They controlled the ball most of the game and outshot them by a lot of shots but only put 2 in the net.
Posted By: Anonymous Re: White Knoll Tournament - 04/11/02 05:48 PM
Congrats to BHP who finished second in the tournament. BHP 3--Chester 0, BHP 3--WK 1, BHP 2--Camden Military 1, BHP1--Airport 2. Jon Griffin Hale scored 4 goals and Scotty Branyon 5 in the tourny for BHP.
