No, most refs aren't scared, but for some reason in SC High School soccer, it has been imbreded in South Carolina soccer that a red card is terrible. Sometimes I wonder if you pull a gun on another player if that is just yellow. The only way I have see a red card is foul language or making fun of a ref. The refs are not interested in the integrity of the game and the safety of the kids, only getting payed and making the majority of the crowd happy.
