I apologize for this being about 10 days late, but my duties with the Palmetto Cup created a back log of paper work! I know this was mentioned in the 4/6/06 results, but thought this deserved its own thread.

Coach Tom O'Hare of Wilson Hall has informed www.scsoccer.com that senior Brendan Kight tallied two goals in the Barons' 6-1 victory against Orangeburg Prep that gave Kight his 100th and 101st goal at WH.

A six-year member of the varsity squad at Wilson Hall, Kight "has been a key component of the program that has finally gotten a measure of respectability and he has had a classy and stellar career", according to O'Hare.

Congratulations go out to Kight and the Wilson Hall boys soccer program!

Congrats, but i was under the impression a player is only allowed to play four years of varsity. Or is he in a SCISA league school and the rules are different.

Actually SCISA rules allow 7th graders and 8th graders to play varsity soccer.Wilson Hall did not start JV soccer until his 9th grade year. He was also playing club soccer during the spring during these years and only played in a few matches each year to gain experience.

Ok, just wondering on the ruling.

Is Brendan going to play soccer in college? If so, for what school?

Brendan is headed to The Citadel to run cross country and track next fall. He had several opportunities to play soccer on the next level, but chose The Citadel, which was the best fit for his chosen academic major. It was a tough decision to give up soccer, but one Brendan seems sure was the right one.
well the citadel is picking up its soccer program within the next few years. Will he be joining it?

One thing about The Citadel, you just have to take things as they come. I'm sure if soccer is restarted he would like to play, but right now he will concentrate on academics and track.
Congrats on this great accomplishment and for representing SCISA so well. Good luck at The Citadel.
