who is the best all-round player in the state. Who is most consistent in all aspects of the game.
Posted By: Hurst66 Re: best all-round player in the state - 04/24/06 07:16 PM
Nick Schuermann - Fort Mill.
Posted By: cabj12 Re: best all-round player in the state - 04/24/06 07:36 PM
I can't disagree with that. Nick is a very solid and skillful player.
Posted By: GVLSoccerDad Re: best all-round player in the state - 04/24/06 07:39 PM
Seth Kulesekara (sp?) - Daniel HS
Posted By: cabj12 Re: best all-round player in the state - 04/24/06 07:41 PM
Seth is also extremely good. No one great player stands out over another great player so it is hard to say who is the best.
Question what is Nick's future after Fort Mill, more soccer in the future?
Posted By: The Hammer Re: best all-round player in the state - 04/24/06 09:19 PM
I heard Wofford.
Posted By: Anonymous Re: best all-round player in the state - 04/24/06 09:42 PM
what about thomas thunell from dreher...he's one of the msot skilled players in the state.. definately the best defender.. and he beat us in the last second 2-1.(BC at Memorial)
Posted By: LAMPSHADE Re: best all-round player in the state - 04/24/06 09:48 PM
definately seth
Posted By: Anonymous Re: best all-round player in the state - 04/24/06 09:50 PM
please ignore t-time...shouldnt leave scsoccer up with your little brother in the room
Seth and Nick both very good players. Blair Rushing is a very solid defender that could be considered for this as well
Posted By: anonymousjoe Re: best all-round player in the state - 04/24/06 11:43 PM
Yeah, Nick is going to Wofford. I believe academic and soccer scholarship, maybe just soccer. Very skilled player and possibly one of the smartest.
Posted By: TheGreat Re: best all-round player in the state - 04/25/06 12:17 AM
so i guess t-time stands for thomas time...hey thomas thunnel. Memorial is such a good team...u must be awesome
two from the aiken area would have to be bret ditulio from south aiken and skyler rearden from aiken high. They can both play every position on the field. Both of them are big strong and extremly fast with the ability to use either foot really well.
Posted By: futballer117 Re: best all-round player in the state - 04/25/06 01:41 AM
what about jamal geathers never seen him play but heard he is pretty good.
Posted By: Hawk.. Re: best all-round player in the state - 04/25/06 01:51 AM
Christian Gandini nice skills with the ball and great speed. Carlos Chirinos cant hit the ball really hard and his speedy gonzales. they both make the best forwards in the state
Posted By: Hawk.. Re: best all-round player in the state - 04/25/06 01:52 AM
sorry Carlos CAN hit the ball really hard..
Jamal is an unbelievable attacker but azy on the defensive side. All three the aiken boys can strike a ball super fast. Reardon and Ditulio were kickers and kick kick the ball 70 plus off the ground
Posted By: Jack Rozier Re: best all-round player in the state - 04/25/06 02:00 AM
I don't know what "all-around" player means.. but this is my HS fantasy team.

Josh Settle - Ben Lippen - GK
Zack Owen - Daniel - D
Kipp Amaker - Dutch Fork - D (yes..i'm going to hell)
Kevin Ros - Brookland-Cayce - D
Seth Kulasekera - Daniel - M
Edwin Rengifo - Eastside - M
Enzo Martinez - Northwestern - M
Sean Flynn - Spring Valley - M
Zach Prince - Irmo - M
Andrew Phillips - Northwestern - F
Ricky Taylor - Lugoff-Elgin - F [Big Grin]

(haven't seen G-ville, SA, NMB, or HH yet this year.. so..pardon the omissions)
Posted By: sideline24 Re: best all-round player in the state - 04/25/06 02:08 AM
well ive played with everyone of these players on this list plus Rushing and Nick but i have to say all around: touch, speed, in the air ,defending, and shooting Nick ....im telling you this kid can do it all...the other players have weak points though they are very few
Posted By: cabj12 Re: best all-round player in the state - 04/25/06 02:13 AM
Well, Seth, Edwin, Enzo, and Zach P. all stand out on that list so I would consider them but the others are very questionable. And Rushing certainly isn't the best "all-around" player although a very solid defender.
Posted By: Jack Rozier Re: best all-round player in the state - 04/25/06 02:15 AM
..at their respective positions..I think they're all pretty solid. Which is why I don't get this "all-around" thing.. do you take into account a keeper's striker skills and vice versa? Is this only a classification for midfielders? See what I'm saying?
Posted By: cm15-90min Re: best all-round player in the state - 04/25/06 02:18 AM
L-E DUDE...last years best all around player would have to be wayne sweeten (BL keeper) almost as good of field player as keep...knew how to hit the net and keep them out
Posted By: Jack Rozier Re: best all-round player in the state - 04/25/06 02:20 AM
Okay.. my point is though..that the people being listed..are not Wayne Sweeten..and I doubt they have these "all around" skills. I know I'm being a bit of a prick here.. just you know.. nothing wrong with semantics.
Posted By: cm15-90min Re: best all-round player in the state - 04/25/06 02:21 AM
i understand...i was just letting you know that there are exceptions sometimes
Posted By: cabj12 Re: best all-round player in the state - 04/25/06 02:21 AM
No it isn't just for midfielders but all of those players are exceptional at both forward and midfield and are capable of being a good outside back because of their skill. And keepers shouldn't really be considered. But I do see what you are saying.
Posted By: cabj12 Re: best all-round player in the state - 04/25/06 02:24 AM
And I doubt Wayne Sweeten was the best all around player last year.
Posted By: Jack Rozier Re: best all-round player in the state - 04/25/06 02:25 AM
..for kicks..

my senior year.. I started at keeper, back, center mid, and forward.. where are my props?! [Wink]
Posted By: cabj12 Re: best all-round player in the state - 04/25/06 02:27 AM
I must say I am thoroughly impressed.
Posted By: sideline24 Re: best all-round player in the state - 04/25/06 02:28 AM
I heard Zach is good hes the only one i havn't played with or against but seth and edwin are weak in the air and on defending but obviosly great goin forward with the ball and i think enzo is too young just yet
Posted By: Jack Rozier Re: best all-round player in the state - 04/25/06 02:43 AM
See..this is what I'm saying.. there is no HIGH SCHOOL (or any other level) player that doesn't have A weakness. But..talk away heads.
Posted By: Bmiddy88 Re: best all-round player in the state - 04/25/06 03:16 AM
I would have to say brett keatly(sp?)from Lexington or schuyler reardon from Aiken
Posted By: 90 Re: best all-round player in the state - 04/25/06 03:26 AM
Well, we've heard L-E Dude's fanatsy team. I'm sure its not long until we hear something from his accomplice. Let's hear it Benp....
Posted By: benp Re: best all-round player in the state - 04/25/06 03:44 AM
Well, as far as Wayne Sweeten being the best all-around player last year, I would say that this certainly isn't the case. He was about the 3rd best keeper in the state, but nowhere near as talented in the field as was said. He had a couple of game winners last year, but they were in the air, where he was an absolute freak, and its just good coaching to realize that if he's gonna get to every ball in the back, then he's probably got a good chance of getting to it in the front.

My Fantasy team:
GK George Rushe (Dreher)
RB Jess Maki (Lexington)
CB Justin Lambert (Ben Lippen, no loyalty)
LB Sean Flynn (SV and yes, in the back)
RM Edwin Rengifo (Eastside)
CM Enzo Martinez (Northwestern)
CM Nick Shuermann (Fort Mill)
LM Andrew Evans (BC)
RF Ryan Kropp (Northwestern)
CF Zach Prince (Irmo)
LF Kyle Hughes (Ridge View)

Bench:
GK Jason Mccabe (DF)
Def Thomas Thunell (Dreher)
Def Kevin Ros (BC)
Mid Seth Kalusekera (Daniel)
Mid Brendan Kight (Wilson Hall)
Mid Schuyler Rearden (Aiken)
Fwd Alex Acree (Irmo)
Fwd Carl Anderson (Dreher)

Injured Reserve:
Jamal Geathers (South Aiken)
John Ross-Cramer (North Myrtle Beach)
JC Gypin (BC)

There are still tons of teams I have not seen, and tons of great players who play on those teams, but from what I've seen, these take the cake.
John Ross might just be a lil bit higher on that list.. the kid is unreal
IF I HAD JUST 11 TO CHOOSE HERE THEY GO. THIS WOULD BE A GOOD @!#$@%^*#!@ TEAM!!

The real fanasty team:
GK Ty Orsborne(Lex)
Def Kevin Ros(BC)
Def Ben Brannan(NW)
Def Carl Anderson(DRE)
Mid Andrew Evans (BC)
Mid Enzo Martinez(NW)
Mid Matt Winstead(CN)
Mid Paddy Flynn (SV)
Fwd Christian Gandini(HH)
Fwd Carlos Chirinos(HH)
Fwd Ryan Kropp (NW)

You guys that say Nick Schuerman are right on the money. Nick is equally as good playing in the back as he is playing an attacking position. He is big, fast, and has excellent ball skills, plus he reads the game realy well.Good in the air and is a strong finisher around the goal.LE Dude says EVERY player has a weakness, but I've watched Nick in club and ODP on many occasions and I can't identify any weakness he has. Plus, he's a darn nice kid.
Posted By: ChuckNorris Re: best all-round player in the state - 04/25/06 01:15 PM
Surely he has a weakness!!

Cute puppies, girls in pig tails, kryptonite....

City of Aiken did you really think that Reardon and Ditulio can kick a football 70 yds? Or are you talking about a soccer ball?

GK George Rushe(Dreher)
D Jess Maki(Lex)

No mention by anyone for Diego Miranda of Bluffton??? Very surprising.
Isn't he out for the season??
Posted By: Import Re: best all-round player in the state - 04/26/06 04:01 AM
Agree totally with BDad on Nick. He is a joy to watch, especially off the ball, and has gotten stronger as the year has progressed. His skill as a defender has not shown totally playing mid but has it all! Good luck to him at Wofford! Look forward to seeing him play.
pappy 15 they can kick both equally as far and i have seen it you have my word on it. And for all of those people out there making lists up... why waste your time? Half of you are prob making a name just so you can say a couple WELL KNOWN good players names and then add your own in there. Even though it is a bit political....why dont we just wait and see the all state and north south rosters. Then youll have a list of the best, PLUS a list of the best of the best being the starters.
Posted By: Jack Rozier Re: best all-round player in the state - 04/25/06 09:24 PM
..doesn't get much more political than N/S & All-State. Hate to break it to ya.
Posted By: Import Re: best all-round player in the state - 04/25/06 09:43 PM
totally agree LE! might even be an understatement!
i agree one hundred percent but i take it neither of yal made it..haha

Point taken.

..wait what?
Posted By: zokker_king Re: best all-round player in the state - 04/26/06 02:31 AM
better off listing 33 players, at this level their are many players who shine... why not 55 benp 22 is strong

oops my bad, this one: ..doesn't get much more political than N/S & All-State. Hate to break it to ya.

L-E Dude nailed it on the head. N/S and All-State is mostly all politics.
Posted By: FUsoccer14 Re: best all-round player in the state - 04/26/06 09:02 PM
What about Erik Cobb of Academic Magnet. He plays ODP and has had some scouts looking at him already. Many people overlook the 1A teams, but nobody should overlook Erik
I like benp's. Maybe Christian Monroe too. What about Andrew Eppelsheimer(sp)? I like Kipp Amaker too, maybe not the most skillful player, but he's probably one of the most aggresive and physical. I would definitely put Jason McCabe right behind George too. That kid probably has more raw natural ability than any keeper, but just needs to get smarter and more vocal. I wasn't that impressed with Kyle Hughes though. Maybe he was just off the two games I saw play, but he definitely didn't stand out.
Posted By: Bmiddy88 Re: best all-round player in the state - 04/27/06 03:15 AM
Erik Cobb is sick but not quite on the level of most of the players on the list...def next year
Posted By: webster Re: best all-round player in the state - 04/27/06 01:55 PM
tanner hayes at lugoff-elgin high is avery good defender as a junior. he is as good as i have seen in 3a this year in competition.
Posted By: Always Right Re: best all-round player in the state - 04/27/06 02:06 PM
Guys it's not healthy to talk about yourselves in third person!
Posted By: Anonymous Re: best all-round player in the state - 04/27/06 03:47 PM
what about kirby burkholder he scores alot of goals but people tell me their easy ones
Posted By: Anonymous Re: best all-round player in the state - 04/27/06 03:57 PM
what about will moore who played for sting but i heard he is soft and gets hurt all the time
Jeffery Johnston from GHS's has had like 100 assists off his throw ins they can't be stopped. I also think it is odd that out of all these fantasy teams that you do not have any GHS players on them, seeing how they DEMOLISH thier compitition.
Posted By: scsoccer06 Re: best all-round player in the state - 04/27/06 09:55 PM
I would have to say that Brett Keatley from Lexington is a pretty awesome soccer player.
Posted By: fiona Re: best all-round player in the state - 04/27/06 10:52 PM
andrew, kirby, and will are all really good players.
Posted By: cabj12 Re: best all-round player in the state - 04/28/06 12:26 AM
Well GHS doesn't really have any amazing players other than Sebastian but he is only a freshman. All their players are just good solid soccer players that play well together.
Posted By: sideline24 Re: best all-round player in the state - 04/28/06 01:53 AM
wow you show your ignorance, they have Rushing that might go play at clemson(def somewhere D.1)
Kleckley who is talking with USC and College of Charleston, Jeff Johnston could play somewhere if he wanted to but I don't think is, but your right they don't have ay amazing players
Posted By: cabj12 Re: best all-round player in the state - 04/28/06 02:58 AM
Yeah, they are all good players but they aren't close to being the best player in the state. And Rushing might go D-1 only cause he is big, strong, and a tough defender. Not because he is an amazing player. And are juniors allowed to talk to colleges already? Invite me when Rushing signs his letter of intent.
Posted By: Jack Rozier Re: best all-round player in the state - 04/28/06 03:18 AM
It probably would have helped if G-ville had scheduled some of the perennial powerhouses..or a better tournament (or two)..so they would have more exposure to some of the names being mentioned..people to compare to.

People question NW's schedule..but at least they have the LMC and PC tournaments to claim.

That being said.. 4-1 over Eastside (a team I saw early in the seaon..and was very impressed by) and 4-0 over Riverside..is very strong.
Posted By: anonymousjoe Re: best all-round player in the state - 04/28/06 03:22 AM
Nick Schuermann, game winning goal against NW. That can certainly be added onto his arguement.
Yea Nick Schuermann has been playing quality soccer all season
Posted By: Hurst66 Re: best all-round player in the state - 04/28/06 12:40 PM
Nick Schuermann not only scored the game winning goal, he also battled in the midfield and dropped back to defense to salt the game away.

That's an "all-around" pretty good performance.
How many goals have been scored on GHS this year? Who is GHS Defense? Thier stopper and sweeper must be some of the best players casue no one on this message board can get by them. I heard somthing like they have been scored on 3 times, and 2 were PKs. Is this true?
