That's a pretty impressive group. I'm looking forward to seeing Pinewood play Northwestern the first day of the Palmetto Cup. We'll get to see how good Pinewood really is.

The fact that you're waiting to see how Pinewood does against Northwestern is a clear testament of just how dominate they are in SCISA.

Nice game Bear..............

I think they have made noise in the SCHSL, as well as SCISA, w/ wins over James Island, Ft Mill, and now Bishop England. They should do well in the Palmetto Cup. BPoston will be scouting for Cardinal Newman, no doubt.

It was a very good game, like they always are.
Posted By: BPoston Re: Top 25 - 03/20/07 02:23 AM
Whoa...all I was saying is it should be a good game. Hey, I'll agree with you Bear, they do dominate SCISA, as does Northwestern in 4A and Greenville in 3A. Two SC powerhouses playing early in the Cup, I'll be there.

back to Griff16: beating Fort Mill isn't exactly an accomplishment this year. They have zero quality wins. And James Island, are they ranked? I'll give you the Bishop England game, great win for Pinewood, but the other two are not.

Everyone knows Pinewood could hang with any team in the state.

That match along with the Lexington/Northwestern and Lexington/Pinewood. Throw Christian Brothers,a soccer power from TN, in there and we've got quite a good weekend of soccer.

Ft Mill is still a top 10 team in 4a. Pinewoods losses come to a solid Spring Valley team and an average Summerville team.

i like the list does anyone know how the ranking is decided i mean besides the teams wins and losses

BPoston...there is no disputing Greenville's success but I'm just curious as to why you would say that they dominate 3A as compared to say Riverside or Eastside (over the past few years).
Posted By: tmoney101 Re: Top 25 - 03/21/07 04:02 AM
Would'nt it be intresting to take the state championship teams from each classification and host a mini tournament, to find out who truley is the best in the state? Say in early june while the teams are still hot off there individual championships.
Posted By: Darnell Re: Top 25 - 03/21/07 08:45 PM
it would be interesting but wouldnt that take away from the actualy winning a state championship. i mean isnt that supposed to be the goal, then you would only really have on state champion
Posted By: tmoney101 Re: Top 25 - 03/21/07 09:48 PM
Wouldnt only having one winner in the end be the true deffinition of state champion. Do'nt get me wrong I love how things are done now, I was simply stating that it would be cool to see who is truley the best.
Posted By: Darnell Re: Top 25 - 03/22/07 04:29 PM
it would be unfair to any of the smaller schools. there is a reason for schools being called 4A and 3A its so they can compete with schools with the same amount of people. it wouldnt be fair to expect a school with 500 people to compete with a school with 2000. i like your idea of a single champion but it just wouldnt work.
Posted By: yoyoyoshi Re: Top 25 - 03/23/07 12:45 PM
i disagree that it wouldn't work. Greenville is 3A, but I think could defeat Northwestern like anyother 4A team. Size is a big factor is high school soccer, but Greenville is such a talented squad, they can hang with anyone. And Bishop England could easily be the winner of that tourney also. I think it would be a very close and awesome tournament to watch.
Posted By: SC SOCCER10 Re: Top 25 - 03/23/07 01:32 PM
So every other team in 4A can defeat Northwestern?? Thanks for the tip.
Posted By: Big Boi Re: Top 25 - 03/23/07 01:48 PM
Mike,
I think that Greenville was the point of discussion from yoyoshi, not Northwestern. Is it true that the sun rises and sets in Rock Hill.
Posted By: TrojanGrad05 Re: Top 25 - 03/23/07 08:41 PM
Just thoguht yall should know, that Northwestern should be a 3A school this year... and they are moving down next year to 3A... so that kinda makes yalls point kinda lame!
Posted By: Loc Dog Re: Top 25 - 03/23/07 10:19 PM
Wrong! that post kinda makes you look dumb
Posted By: yoyoyoshi Re: Top 25 - 03/24/07 01:42 AM
and mike basset, I meant they could beat Northwestern like they could beat any other 4A team, not the other way around. sorry for offending you...
Posted By: Barc09 Re: Top 25 - 03/24/07 05:08 AM
Northwestern 3A next year???
Posted By: yaknodat13 Re: Top 25 - 03/24/07 08:29 AM
im not sure but i thot they were the highest populated high school in SC. correct me if im wrong
Posted By: hesdoneit Re: Top 25 - 03/25/07 04:02 AM
ALL THESE STANDINGS MEAN NOTHING NOW. WAIT UNTIL POST SEASON THEN WE CAN ARGUE ABOUT THE NUMBER ONE TEAMS. ANYTHING CAN HAPPEN!
Posted By: sccoach Re: Top 25 - 03/25/07 05:06 AM
I'm pretty sure Summerville has the highest enrollment. Close to 3100. RHHS and NW have close to 2400.

No offense taken yoyoyoshi, I just misunderstood. And as for B-Rabbit, there is also a pot of gold at the end of every rainbow in Rock Hill.
