Is this the first Irmo senior class to go through all four years without a state title?

The description in the heraldonline article referenced above of the Irmo goal which was called back is incorrect. On the spot, slow motion review of the play shows the Irmo striker and NW defender went for the ball at the near post.

The NW defender planted his right forearm into the attacking Irmo striker who went to the ground as the NW defender headed the ball away towards his own back post, but it went into the net.

Further confirmation that there was no foul came from the reaction of the NW defender. He gave no indication at all that he was pushed in the back.

No one is the class of '07 graduated with a ring.

Manchester, your video doesn't prove anything. The vast majority of calls in the first half have went Irmo's way, and many of them were completely unjustified. Irmo had plenty of other chances to score. They lost, get over it.

Thats because there wasn't a freshman on the team the year they won it in '04. I believe this is the first time a freshmen class of players on the varsity level went through all four years without a ring at Irmo.

MUnited, it's a discussion board. The whole point of this board is for people to discuss what they thought about the game. All manchester is doing is talking about what he saw. Relax.

Wow! Really? That's almost amazing.

Congratulations on a great season to a very young Irmo squad. These boys have battled back through many difficult situations this year and should be proud of their efforts. And, to the graduating Seniors, best of luck in your college carreers and life in the "real world".
