Due to the severe thunderstorms that rolled through the Midlands late this afternoon and during the evening, the 2012 Lady Bearcat Invitational has canceled its Championship match between Cardinal Newman and Webster Groves-MO.

The Cardinals and Statesmen are crowned Co-Champions for this year's tournament.

The Bearcat Soccer program would like to thank all of the participating teams, coaches, fans, officials, sponsors, and volunteers for making this a very entertaining weekend of girls prep soccer.
All I can ask is why did Eastside have a penalty kick called against them versus the team from Missouri? It was a total clean tackle. Even the teams waiting to play agreed that it was a horrible call. I tried to convey that to the official after the match, but he would have none of my plea. Ridiculous! Who grades these guys?

Good question! Looked like an excellent defensive play to me from the press box view. Hated to see that match decided by that call.
