Dreher Coach David Kleinfelder collects 500th career soccer victory - 04/11/18 11:20 AM
Congratulations to veteran coach Dave Kleinfelder, who tallied his 500th caeer prep soccer victory April 10, 2018 vs. Chapin (12-5, 5-1). Fourth-ranked Dreher (12-2, 4-1) outlasted the top-ranked Eagles 2-1 in a penalty kick shootout that went 14 rounds in a key Region 5-4A contest.
Coach Kleinfelder served as the boys soccer coach at Dreher and Lexington before taking the reigns of the Blue Devils' girls program. Also a prep tennis coach, "Coach Klein" has tallied 325 career victories in that sport as well.
He was a coach in the 2016 Clash of the Carolinas and has also served as a head coach and a co-coach in the North-South Soccer Classic. Kleinfelder was named the South Carolina 2015 Coach of the Year by the National Federation of State High School Association.
