The Brookland-Cayce B-Team is comprised of inexperienced soccer players in the 7th-9th grade.

This team was formed due to the number of kids that would not have made the Junior Varsity team, but are not involved in club soccer either -- in other words they wouldn't play soccer again most likely until JV tryouts next spring (with the possible exception of a fall recreational league). We felt it was in our program's best interest to go ahead and give these kids an opportunity to learn our system and what our program is all about.

Needless to say, the move from rec to high school has been an "eye-opener" for them, but also the expectations of daily training and actually learning the game has been key for this group. The success of this team is not measured in wins/losses, but progress.

The B-Team has far-exceeded my expectations thus far and have really made strides since the start of tryouts. Many of these current players will figure prominently in the future years of our program and are learning at the base leve right now. They have been very competitive -- much more than I thought they would have been -- in their first three matches and are continuing to improve while maintaining positive attitudes and keeping the "big picture" in sight.
