Congratulations to all the winners in the JV Tournament. It was very well run and the weather was great. A very enjoyable weekend.
They haven't played it yet
Do we know what fields will be used for these Games?? And when the Schedules will be up
I wouldn't look for brackets anytime soon. For pre season it was the week before the tournament before everything was finalized. I guess they want to get as many teams as possible. It should be extremely competitive if the teams that played in the pre season tournament are returning.
Now that we've all seen some of the teams play, any predictions for the end of season tourney?
Boys: West Florence, White Knoll, AC Flora, Airport, and Irmo. Those teams should be solid depending on which bracket they play in.
Yeah-If West Florence wins my daughter gets to put one of the players hair in pony tails and he has to wear it to school all day. We're pulling for them all the way!!
any predictions on the girls?
ok.
Girls: St. James and Airport, repeat of the Preseason Championship.

Brackets came out today, should be an all around strong tournament.
and how about the other division?

I believe that is Dutch Fork Girls vs. West Florence Girls
You are correct. Thanks for catching that error. It's a bit tedious turning through four pages and matching numbers, fields, and times to get them all right.

Tried to knock this out and make heads and tails out of it during HSAP testing today!
It's a shame that TL Hanna and South Aiken girls are not in this tournament, both are having great years.

A Wando vs. South Aiken final would have been a good match.
We've got three other teams on our side of the division that will have something to say about Wando being in the final. But, how about a Wando vs Ft Mill final?
I don't think we'll get through....and if we do there won't be much left in the tank.

Dutch Fork might give you a game tonight....but that's about it.

I'd start clearing some more room in the trophy case down there in Mount Pleasant.

Now South Aiken......that might have been interesting???
Dont count that Barnwell team out. I think they may suprise some teams.
We have a pretty good scouting report on Barnwell.

We have a secret informant......good inside information.
Swamp D....Who do you think will win Group A?
Swamp Donkey...dont brag on the JV team yet......we do have a decent chance....most teams will overlook them since we are from lowly class 2A and people dont think we know how to play soccer!!
Thanks for deciphering that tournament schedule! I was just prepared to show up and watch them play. Who sets this thing up anyway?

Not true, we play against some very good Florence players in club ball

Swamp Donkey...dont brag on the JV team yet......we do have a decent chance....most teams will overlook them since we are from lowly class 2A and people dont think we know how to play soccer!!

M Allen, not bragging on them. They just gave us a fit earlier in the year. I'd like to see how they end up.
Wando fan, I'm not sure. It'll be between BC,B-Well, and Fort Mill.
What about Spring Valley and Irmo? They are both very good teams. In the earlier tournament (which Wando was kind enough to let someone else win by not entering), I think FM beat SV by one goal and drew with Irmo?
M Allen do you coach the JV girls at B-Well.
Hurst you may be right. This could be a toss up in group A.
Hurst, you coach FM girls or boys?
I have the ladies.
Swamp, I coach the Varsity girls at Barnwell...my JV girls are coached by Randy Reece....who has done a fabulous job in getting them ready to play Varsity. ...Randy and I both played at Barnwell together and both have same philosophy in terms of soccer so that helps....
Any thoughts on this 1st round girls game: DF v Wando

Wando 8-0-0 GF 53 GA 0
DF 11-0-1 GF 44 GA 3

How can a 13-14 year old girl be a "lady". Maybe "young ladies" is more appropriate or "girls".
I have the little ladies (not women).

The "big girls" play on the varsity.
Dr. Morabito,

I played Wando in what was essentially a "group final" in last year's tournament and lost 1-0.

I played Dutch Fork in this year's earlier tournament and lost 3-0 in the championship game.

My money is on Wando.
Looking forward to this weekend. Just coming to have a good time. I know there's gonna be alot of talent there and we're looking forward to some great matches. The girls are excited about playing in the upper division. But tommorow anything could happen having to play three games. I hope we represent Barnwell well and we'll see you tonight.

Hurst, I thought I taught her better than that. (your informant)lol
H66: I hope you're wrong. We will know more at 8:30p tonight.
Randy,

I look forward to meeting you. She's a great kid, you taught her well.

She will have the arm band on tonight!
Awesome!
Anyone know anything about Blythewood, Ridge view, or Dutch Fork boys?
Blythewood- has done strong all year only lost 1 game all regular season and it was a game in where there key forward was not in the game due to grades. They just recently dominated Dutch Fork Jv 3-0 after the return of thier forward chris harmon.

Congrats to Irmo from the White Knoll JV Boys team. All four matches this year were very exciting. And the championship game was everything the kids, fans, and coaches could ask for in a game. Good luck against North Augusta on Tuesday. We look forward to some great matches next season.

Dale, why would they not be playing?

We try and work well with the club coaches in the area. They had games this weekend so felt best not to send a 10-12 man squad. We're working diligently to make sure we get the girls in next year and test our mettle against the state's best
Congratulations to the Barnwell JV girls team. They made it to the finals of the competitive division where they lost to Wando. Not bad for a little AA school with 0 Sophomores, 4 Freshman, and the rest 7th and 8th graders.
As the future Varsity coach of these Barnwell JV girls...I would like to congratulate them on their finish as well....to make it to the finals says a lot for your girls. Not many people would have given them a chance...but we proved otherwise...now only if we can continue the success to the Varsity level.
Very good job by the Barnwell JV girls, they are a very nice team with some outstanding young players who know how to play the game.

Glad to see the girls and Coach RR bring a trophy back to the school.
I've always thought Barnwell did a good job of running their girls program. Coach Carroll always had them ready to play. It's just a rebuilding year for them. Wait a couple of years and then look at the 2A varsity girls rankings. You will see Barnwell in them.
Thanks guys, please dont mention my name though it was the girls who did it. They have worked tremendously hard this season and have done everything I've asked. The character and class shown to me and the girls from Fort Mill coach, B-C parents, and Wando coach, parents and players was amazing. Thank you for your encouragement. I knew Wando would be tough but I told the girls just to go out there and give them a good fight and after three previous games in just 6 hours, they did just that. Awesome display of heart and determination. Wont hear me use the AA v. AAAA excuse though otherwise I wouldnt have entered the tourney. Awesome competition and all around great tournament!! (other than Fort Mills cancellation). Get 'em' next year Coach T!!
I want one of those cool pics or logos under my screen name!! Can someone help me out? (sorry to change the subject)
It's called an avatar. Ask #7 or #19 to help you out, they looked like bright girls.
yeah, its amazing how computer literate they all are. They can make a cell phone unlock a car door to!
COngrats to Summit Middle for representing the Middle Schools well. I know I got into a discussion at their game Friday with someone who asked why a middle school was playing in a JV tournament. I answered because they can. They came close to winning it all.
