I played select youth soccer for Charlestown S.C. for several years in the 1980's. And recently, I went onto the SCYSA website to check the historical record of teams that won state championships. And I noticed that those records do not go back that far. I am interested in this because one of the teams I played for in the summer and fall of 1985 (I beleive our team name may have been called the Blitzkrieg) may have won the state championship! Here's how: back in the 1980's state tournaments were organized like this: U-12, U-14, U-16, and U-19.

Now recently state tournaments are specific to one year, like U-15. At the state tournament that year we were in the final four, but we had to compete against players one year older. I believe there was an article in the sports page about it. The other three were the older teams from my club, a team from Irmo, and the other from Saint Giles. Now if we were the last team on the U-15 level still standing, by recent standards and in a way, does that mean we won the state championship?

You know, how D1 college football used to determine national champions, and not by a playoff system in place today. Again, in order to prove this, the records have to be retrieved. And I have a hunch that may not be possible. And I am not sure if those other two teams were '70's or '71's like mine. This is just for "old times sake". Mabey recognition online at this site or at SCYSA. Or at least a record of the official state champion going all the way back to 1977.

where on the scysa site can you find this? I'm not seeing anything that goes past 2016. We won a state title back in the early 90's. It would be cool to see that list.
