Bread & Butter is PMSL/Open -- not SCSCL ... that's what pays the bills ... largest portion of membership

William (Billy) Caviness, Secretary re-elected via acclamation

Mid-State Commissioner Election (Helmut Tissler is not running for re-election after a decade+ of service): Katie Phillips & Michael Copeland
Katie Phillips elected

Wayne Corley, Treasurer
2021 Revenue of $120,000 / $68.000 PPP loan / about $50,000 profit
2020 lost $
2019 lost $

Hans Pauling, Executive Director Report
Managed the leagues directly, Walter will not have to that per se
Columbia used to be 60% of SCYSA games, last Fall about 30%; more regional games for Open/PMSL
Open is the fastest growing league SCYSA sponsors
State tourney played in Rock Hill on turf fields; rained all weekend - worked well (thanks to CISC)
Cups went very well this year (Fall Festival/Open Cup) - great weather at Lexington
Florence for state cup is feasible only if 60-64 teams participate; the event is set up for 80 teams and only a few complexes can handle it; may have to look at one weekend for Girls and another for Boys
Fall 2100 games / Spring 800 games
Only five places in the state where Hans can just put a game - West Columbia Soccer Complex, Carolina FC, CESA Greenville, SC United FC, Lexington County; Florence also has been willing to host ... Sandhills would be #6, but no officials
Will continue to try and promote neutral field locations
Introduction of Olivia Neil responsible for social media and promotions - she works private tournaments free of charge ... 1K to 3K followers on Instagram in first year ... Senior Spotlights - email to her ...

Walter Clapton - Executive Director effective 2/1/22

Grateful for the summary. Are these meetings public? Can parents attend?

Hearing that one of the withdrawals from the coastal seat may have once been known to frequent this board. Disappointing they didn’t see the vote out.

If the AGM wasn't at the Surf Awendaw Soccer Megaplex, I imagine he wouldn't make it. Still on the trees waiting...

Although maybe he did hear that 2 guys got busted by the feds and more coming?

Maybe they'll build a federal penitentiary to house former Surf coaches?
