Congratulations to the Bridge FA 90 Gold Boys for winning the US Club Soccer Regionals this past weekend in Jacksonville Florida. They beat Florida's State Champs 3 - 2 in Monday's game for rights to compete in the US Club Nationals. Record for the weekend was 3-0-1.

They will be competing again this year for the US Club National's July 28 - July 31 in Greensboro NC. This is Bridge FA 90 Gold's second year competing in this tournament having won the National Championship last year as U-14's.

Also saw Lexington U16's and CESA U-16's competing down there.

Also Bridge U12 were finalists..

Both CESA U16 and Lex U16 lost to the champion within their respective divisions in group play. In both cases their only loss.

Bridge U14 lost in group play

There were no SC ladies present

There was at least one SC lady present. Fort Mill's Abbie McDonald played for Charlotte United Gold U14G. Apparently they had a respectable showing but did not advance out of their group.

Thanks Hurst... I was meaning along the lines of teams. Somewhat dissappointing that SC lady teams did not show their magic.

Where are the Bridge players from? What schools? How did the Lexington team look (besides their record)?

Talon,

I'm a little uncertain about a couple of players. Majority were on varsity rosters last year at their respective schools.

futbol G: There were CESA and Lexington teams as well as Bridge teams at the USCS regionals -- Bridge just had more success.

I personally think that it's great that more SC clubs and teams are participating in this -- a dual registration strategy for top teams in clubs with SCYSA and USCS just makes a ton of sense.

Add the fact that many of the top clubs in the US are participating in US Club Soccer, it makes sense to be able to do both.

Super Y is a who's who of clubs - CASL, NASA (Formerly Silverbacks), Richmond Kickers, TFC, Charlotte soccer club, etc...
