Anyone have any updates about the kids who just graduated in 09 and how they are doing at their various schools. By now most college teams have played 3 or 4 games.
From South Aiken, Mills (F) at PC, Harris (M) at UNC-Ashville, and Wyatt (GK) at UTK, all doing well.
What kind of playing time are these players getting?
how is the keeper from sc doing at usc in california?
Eric (not Enzo) Martinez of Fort Mill has started and played all three games at USC at left back position. He scored a goal on a corner kick in the first game against High Point.
Katie Tate is now rostered with College of Charleston and is doing well. She had 3 saves in a shut out against High Point on Friday.
soccerfan:
What is the rule for leaving a school during the season and being able to be roster and playing for another school the same season. Im suprised a player dosn't have to sit out a season to become eligible. Why the switch in schools? Anyway good luck at CofC.
Ben Lippen grad, and Western Carolina transfer, Merrit Rollins scored Catawba's lone goal in a 1-0 win at Georgia College & State University. Former Newberry women's soccer coach Juan Pablo Favero is in his second year at GCSU.

I am actually Eric's mom, but happened to read the article about Katie's game. I personally don't know the rules. Hopefully someone else can answer.
From COFC website, Shawn Ferguson named to all tournament team this pastweekend's tournament in Charleston.

wow going from southern cal to c of c. i guess closer to home and more opportunity for pt that prompted the change?
where is caitlin robinson playing?
Post deleted by M Morabito
mm - thanks but i don't think so since caitlin robinson is a forward.
Caitlin Williams, Pendleton HS and Liberty, SC, is Jr. keeper at Western Carolina and was named MVP in weekend tournament in Miami yesterday. I think this is her second MVP honor and she has won "player of the week" honors several times. She's one of the best in the Carolinas.
Clover's Diana Eaton started for USC-Aiken in their 2-1 win over Anderson this weekend.

I've been traveling and am about 10 days out of date but last I heard both Mills and Harris had playing time in the preseason matches and I am not sure about last or this weekend. I will check tomorrow. Wyatt is one of two freshmen keepers at UTK behind a senior and junior. It is highly unlikely either freshman keeper will see any SEC action this year.
Anybody know if the NCAA keeps these kinds of stats???
I know they do for NCAA DI due to APR (Academic Progress Rate) stas.
I don't mean to change the theme of this thread, but I would really like to make this comment. As a woman who grew up in the 1950's and had about 0 opportunities to play sports and now a mom of sons I am so very proud of all the women on the above lists who are excelling. I had no idea how many capable young women lived here. I wish them all success in all their future endeavors and I hope they know that there are "older" women out there reading about their succeses and saying "you go Girl!!!"
I think Mills at PC has a fair amount of playing time in all matches so far. Harris at UNC-Ashville has playing time but I am not sure how much. Wyatt has not played in a match.
